I have big consideration when I choose the AP6600 since I don't want something that forces me to change wheel.

I guess 5788 will be more of a problem since P Mu only make pads for 5200, 6600 and 7600 .

I am ordering the HC+ for road and Racing 999 for track. Will keep you posted.

Hi there, we should go out some time. I guess there are less than 40 and may be even 30 like Bem said.
Anyway, i just saw another black 8 in wah chai. I think it's the exact same one which is selling in those car show but the sales rap is driving it out for lunch ;( 19" gold color wheel, new modified trunk hood, lowered. Nice outlook. Very good looking.

Project mu is one of the most famous brake pad specialist in Japan.

Project Mu, Endless, Seido-ya do brake very well. Other like Winmax, and IDI are also popular brand in Japan.

Project mu - http://www.project-mu.co.jp
Endless - http://www.endlessusa.com/
Seido-Ya - http://www.seido-ya.com

The rotor for the same size as we do cost 60000Yen (www.xe.com = for conversion). As a fact that the Mazda replacement rotor would cost around the same price

Thanks for the info.

How much will the whole set of front and rear calipers, rotors, brake lines cost (project mu)?

Taka, I have checked for you. Tung Fong does not over anything for the 8. The one with are using is from Kyoto from Japan, which cost aorund HK$4,500.

Also, I would like to thank Daniel and Patrick. We had a tiny RX-8 meet at KC Racing!! Patrick has his Odessey installed and Daniel has his clicking problem solved and an oil change on Saturday.

Turbo kit should arrive next week and the car should complete by end June , early July!

Smile New 8 user

Hi All,

I am a new red RX8 owner from HKG. I am not a super fan of car modification like all of you guys. Hope all of you will give me some advise. I am interested in changing the wheel and tires on the car and might install a body kit if budget allows. I am intrested in installing a 19" wheel and tires to fit. What sort of offset does the 8 has and what size tire should I get to fit. Also how much would a body kit cost including installations. I know I haven't specified any brands, prehaps you guys can suggest one. Thanks all.... great to see some 8 super fan in HKG...

Hi Wing Man,
Welcome aboard!!
Where you get your 8? Dealer or importer? M/T OR A/T?
Anyway, stock rim is 18x8JJ offset 50mm 5x114.3. Im also considering changing the rim to 19" as well. Checked thur and 245/255x35x19 should fit front and rear.
For body kit, Bem can help you out...
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your info, much appreciated. I got my 8 at Mazda dealer, so it is a M/T. It is my first M/T car, still getting use to driving it. I am also driving it like a taxi as you guys were doing. Infact I am due for my first 1000km service. In regards to the offset of the wheel, does a few mm difference matters ? I am just doing some research on the net for some BBS wheel. Pretty hard to find the exact offset. Which 19" wheel are you looking at now, prephase I can make some comparison.

I saw a white 8 few days ago which looks pretty good. Maybe it was you. Also I saw a white 8 on sale on cars8.com. I think there must be at least 3 white 8's around HKG.

Thanks again

I am from HK too.

Hi everyone, I have a red rx8. I will go back to HK at July for a month, and really hope to see and meet all of you rx8 owners in HK.

I tried the project mu titan kai racing pads before, together with the scr-pro rotors, both front and back. There were better than the stock setup for the initial braking power, but will still fade out after consecutive hard braking.

Now I switch to the brembo kit at the front and keep the project mu at the rear. The brembo has a lot more braking power when the pads are warmed up. It won't fade out for several hard brakings. I like the brembo and it will have no fitment issue as I am running 17x8 35mm offset 5zigen fno1r-c in the front. I also put the 17x10 35mm offset at the rear but I can only fit the 255-40-17.

Hi Wing Man,
I can tell you that M/T is better than A/T. But I just hate about the stop & go traffic.
I have finally decided to stay on 18" as my car is now to bumpy and 19" could be even worst. But i'm thinking about adding (-)12mm front and (-)15mm rear spacer & check out it should be fine. a few mm diff on offset is definitely not a problem.
Where did you see that white? probably me as the one on car8 was sold to bem and it's on the jack for mod. should have only 2 for now but I just heard that one more white with full option from japan will be coming to hk soon.

No no... my 8 is direct import from JPN, so nothing to do with car8.com. By the way guys, 90% of my goodies have arrived except 1 late package from JPN. So, turbo kit, brakes, wheels, tires, suspension, MS interior and exterior goodies and the list goes on!! We should meet up again very soon, huh??
