i read some where, rx8 redline 9000rpm??
the power band is how?
i know ss2 & dc5 after 6k got g force when lift kick in...but nv heard anything abt rx8 b4..
than how is the torque? like a 1.3 or?

As for "g force", the rotary is not like Vtec where u always hear pple say "I loot until gor cheng (5,000) rpm then my vtec kui, chia sipeh kin." Dunno abt the ss2 though cos i still maintain my stand that this car is not in the league.
To conclude, low end torque is not too good, mid-high end torque is superb. THe sound of the rotary is sweet!
Go with ur heart, if u still have the boy racer in u, go for DC5R. If u wan head turner car, then rx8 is the choice. Mods will come much later. U wan rx8 to be damn fast, its not impossible, its how much u want to spend only. There are mods that can increase 70hps easily for the car. Also have those that increase 50hp. Its how much u willing to devote ur time n money into that car niah.......
Handling wise, like i said earlier, rx8 wins hands down. Again, the driver plays a big part too.

had saw a DC5 with suspension mod. & drop in air filter really pull away from a blitz SC mod SS1 or SS2(not sure) back in Jan2003, as my previous ride DC5 & now RX8 so just wonder whether it is possible for a SC or port & polish SS1/SS2 to pull away from a 6spd RX8 easily ? may be it can

All the cars mentioned here are good.... no need to get so worked up bro. I have seen many nice ss2 with excellent body kits. We no need to prove who is faster, all equal, 2 door, 4 tires...
Why every challange must be speed, how come nobody challange whose car smell better, or whose boot is cleaner or who can car drive to genting and back on 1 tank. Why is it always speed speed speed. If you really want speed then buy a Ferrari or a lambo... one uncle say to me... my lambo 0 to 100, 4 sec,.... hell I take 4 sec to turn on my car. So I feel there is no point to discuss on speed, there are bigger fishes all laughing at us telling us don't talk rubbish. Sad but true.
What about racing in reverse gear. Who is faster ?? ah how about that ??

haha, i totally agree why everything must challenge speed. if ur car is fast enough to go past ERP gantry without being detected, then i say ur car good. or maybe ur car can like those motorcycle, can squeeze past those carpark gantry without paying, then its the best.

I tink he either put turbo, or the 8 he mentioned dowan to race with him.. decided license not worth risking for a confirmed win..
Anyway, it is generally acknowledged that the rotary responds better to FI than most piston engines cos of it's simple construction, ie just add more fuel and air, and u get more power. The bladdy thing just spins faster lor! (Only have to pay attn to detonation -- that one must play with engine mgt).
But say here say there, i think both cars are damn chio. Better looking than evo n wrx. If cannot run as fast, at least look good lor..

actually in the Best Motoring - Rotary reborn disc, the RX8 is the second last car on the track at Tsukuba. they lined up at the grid as follows MX5(NB), RX8, DC5-typeR, S2000, Skyline coupe and WRX. RX8 just doesn't have the torque/power on the straights to win.
I enjoy driving my rx8.

Very very true... with my skill I can only drive 80-90km/hr around a certain bend in Sepang,,, but my instructor show me that the car is capable of doing 120-130 around the same bend with the same car but a more skillful driver.
