Facelifted RX8
Bros! Have any of you read/seen this yet?
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...51#post2233751
Personally I don't like the front and the side fenders (strakes mod no longer possible??).. the rear looks like a cross between a Honda Integra & RX8.. I like the inside though.. I think the new facelift takes away some of the curves which the current model has which doesn't work for me. Just my own thoughts.. what do you think?

Apart from the seats i think the new 8 have no changes at all. I presume all our existing 8 can be upgraded by any after market body kit specialist like Kenstyle to the new one. Not a car that will let people talk for long.

No more RX8 trademark!
Front V crest gone!
Rear Triangular Rotary crest gone!
Fender grilles gone & there goes the strakes too!
Seats although more racing type but Rotary design gone!
Rear lites 2 strips of LED gone!
I personally tin it lifted every other parts but the 'Face' still there lor...
Still prefer the current design.

Don't like the front, seems a bit messy and protruding centre grill is but the new fog lights is a nice touch. Also prefer the side fender grill on the current model. Nicest part I like most is the rear lights cluster.
Recaro seats are nice but steering wheel is WAY ugly. Too blocky and too 350Z'ish.

The front fog light assembly looks like the Audi R8... And the rear lights looks like the VW Passat's... Looks like doin it for the sake of doin it. Sigh.

like lonewolf mentioned, i'm not too pleased that the rotary accents and strakes that uniquely garnished the 8 like no other car are not applicable.
still prefer the current design.
and what, still no 'engine start' button?

Only thing I like about the facelift is the interior. The Recaro seats, the classy centre console with the nav screen, the new steering wheel and the white leather gives it a much needed boost in the 'upmaket feel' stakes.
The exterior is a bunch of mixed up influences from a whole host of different cars. However I am sure that there will be bodykits that will beautify the exterior for sure....so am still hoping for a big 4D win so I can scrap my car and buy this car and transfer all my mods over.
Oh and goddamn no more manual cars for me lol.
Any word on the transmission for the facelift? I'd love to have a 6AT with a DSG style gearbox. That would be sex on wheels.
And I'd STILL resparay the car orange as I simply love the color. It'll be a constant reminder of the flames and what it did to my life...and will serve as a deterrent to never let such things affect me like they did before

Why no more manual for you bro?
The morning traffic to work every morning is pretty killer. Half clutching pretty much most of the way is damn painful....but I refuse to go by CTE and pay that ridiculous ERP twice and then have to pay it once more to enter the CBD.

Me too..
I was thinking of how Subaru was making their WRX uglier by the version so I had decided to buy the pre face lifted 8.
No regrets!
