Has anyone here been through an ecu reflash that as much talked abt in the tech garage threads?

I brought up this issue with my PI workshop and they know nuts abt this. I wonder if there's anywhere which I can find out my car ecu flash level as well as reflash with the newest release if necessary....

 

As far as I know, no one here seems to know anything about the flashes. Current options are a piggyback chip like Canzoomer, Greddy, Unichip or a replacement ECU.
