COE bid successful....how to wait?
Guys!
I'm new to this forum....took the plunge and ordered my Winning Blue 8 from MM(s)....excited? Hell yes!
Cannot expect delivery until November How the heck did you guys in Sing wait so long for your Delivery? What's the secret to holding your gonads in anticipation of the big D-day? :D
Went for the W. Blue but almost chose Silver just to get it a bit earlier. However, the W. Blue shines like a pearl in this tropical sun and completely won me over....glad I didn't succumb to the 350Z :p
I need a delivery waiting gameplan, any suggestions?
Happy potential 8 driver

Hi
Getting my titanium grey next week. Hmmmm gameplan to wait
1. Buy issue 96 Hyper Rev magazine from Kinokuniya $51.50
2. Buy RX8 tranformer toy to play US$ 50
3. Make a list of things to upgrade from Hyper Rev, Yap Brothers and fellow bros here
4. Save a lot of money to pay for above.
Hehe should keep u busy for a while. If still bored, then do 1,2,3 and 4 again and change more ambitious upgrade plan (mor $$$$).
Cheers

Hehehe many thoughts leh.
1. Change to 4 or 6 pot brake set. Stock brake not good enough if u chiong a lot.
2. To be different, go for a nice set of branded 18 inch rims. If u can afford it, 19 inch better. More chio and higher fuel consumption.
3. Change the Clutch line, get the air diffractor, get the short shifter and maybe voltage stabilizer.
4. Get the auto exec strut set.
Everything may cost up to $12k. I am sure other bros have more to recommend. Hmmmm I better work hard and save more....
Will come up with more ideas after going thru the Hyper Rev mag one more time hehehe

That sounds awesome! Let's drive up to Sepang!
It's not about money....$140k on the car and "saved" 15k or so by not going with the 350Z. Drove many cars in Sing....the BMW 325i was hot on my list, same with the S2000, but the 8 won over on the fun factor (plus the WB color). Would like to consider how to effect the upgrades you list at "only" 12k, but need advice as I'm not a car nut...really a home theatre/electronics nut. Hey, if you need to build a home theatre and don't know how, let me know. But I digress, what's the best way to consult with the pro's on this list in Sing to really know what's best for my upcoming 8? I would be very interested in upgrade options, but need you guys to help me out.
Best :o

Hi Genesis bro
1. Buy/borrow/steal the hyper rev amg for a start. It will give u plenty of ideas.
2. Yap Brothers at Paya Ubi can get u almost anything in that mag from Japan (must wait of course).
3. Personally, I will go for the brake first.
4. Like ur nick. Related to Genesis speakers??
Hmm hyper ex HT system will mean the Mark Levinson control center, maybe Lexicon processor and Theta amps?? All round Revel speakers perhaps? All from hi fi mag recommendations. u using DPL projector or plasma?
Cheers

I also spent my free time thinking and researching up some goodies for my 8 when I get home. Anyway, stock brakes are pretty good. Every review I read sang praises. You don't really need to change them unless you intend to go on track often. Ask Neon. Any of you bros here concerned about voiding warranty with all the after-market parts? Actually, I'm more concerned about NTUC refusing to honour insurance claims if involved in accident. Afterall, NTUC quite infamous for claims liao. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the tips...will check out the mag. I'll see how the brakes perform before deciding on upgrade. Hey....you get your 8 delivery next week....b sure 2 write back and let us know how wide your smile is :D
The HT you describe is an awesome kit ML (or anything from Madrigal) is superb. ML, Theta, Lexicon....that would truly be exceptional. I would actually line that up with a 5.1 set of high end Martin Logan electrostats....the most amazing soundstage I've heard. With that kit and a sony hs20 projector with 90" stewart screen in a dedicated HT, why would you leave the house? To drive your RX-8 of course!! hehe
Damn...2 more months to receive my 8

Right on!!! Finally the wait has begun for me. Time is ticking down to my "baby's" arrival.
Still looking for the transformer toy.
Actually saw a shop at the top floor of queensway selling car model toys that come with parts to tune and bodykit to attach on yourself. at the moment they only have fairlady and FD, hopefully will have 8. nice parts like rims, exaust, etc...

Now that I've been waiting for "only" two weeks, I confess that the best waiting plan is to surf this forum! The tips and tricks that many of you post are superb...thanks to all 8 nuts out there, especially in Sing
Like EBS mate posted, best to start looking for new rims now and place an advance order. I ordered the issue 96 Hyper Rev mag and hope to get better ideas on upgrades like the clear corners for the blue...no point in those ugly orange accents when clear is way more complimentary.

Manwe...ok thanks for the tip. I've looked at the brochure by MM for accessories and dont want the body kit bits (I love the sleek lines of the car naked ), but the front and rear rotary crests look cool I think I'll wait to get Hyper Rev mag and then decide. Do you know who I can order from locally?
