Can't we....
I wonder what happened to the forum…..
Previously it was a place where we can come in and just joke around and share thoughts and ideas about the same thing. The car.
But now it has become a war zone where harsh words are the norm. Remember we used to laugh it off when someone is wrong. Now, whenever someone is wrong, there is no second chance for redemption.
We used to be so together. At meet ups, there will be only 1 group. The rx8 group.
Now, we are like scattered sand. Meet ups now are like meet up between strangers. When was the last time newbies and old birds hung out together? PPSC? Karaoke? Look at the attendance, where are the old birds? Its not that they don’t want to go, but because the situation is so tensed that they don’t want to go.
It has gotten so bad that the old birds hardly even post anything cos we are always quarreling amongst ourselves. When was the last time old birds organized a meet up? I think it is about 2 months ago. The old birds still ‘care’ for the newbies if you want to know. The last time PPSC was organized and the meeting point is at Kallang, we decided to call off our last min meet up because we don’t want the PPSC guys to think we purposely organize one meet up to steal the thunder.
I find it very hard to point a finger at anyone and say its their fault cos I am also guilty of whacking other people in the forum. I apologize to them here and say I am sorry for being harsh with my words.
The old birds have gone….only a few are around. Flyer, coupe07, sgrenesis, cuscorex, sbu12g, zavhan, blackjack, lohsk and maybe myself since the ratio of new members to old members are about 5:1. Old birds… come out and make your presence felt la. Good chance to get post count.
We hardly see the moderator around as well, so maybe that’s why things are sometimes out of hand. Daverx, sorry for saying this, but I am sure u know that 90% of the members here don’t even know you. Make an effort to do something. You are our moderator. Don’t be like my principal from my Secondary school. He is a paper tiger. I know you are busy at work, but at least let us know ‘Big brother is watching’.
Straight to what I want to say now. Derekwcw, Coupe07. I really don’t know what is going on between you two…but do you know that each time you two start saying something, my heart will go ‘now what’. Break it up la. The reason man fight is over 2 things. Money and woman. But you two are not even arguing over these 2 matters so I am sure it can be settled nicely.
Derekwcw, I’ve spoken to you once and I find you nice in person. But coupe07 has a point in trying to stop you from getting the RE pod to be copied. He is running a business. He is the authorized dealer for RE products in Singapore. Of cos he is doing the right thing from stopping you from a business point of view. Try to put yourself in his shoes…or MG’s shoes. I don’t want to give any examples to you because we are all working adults thus I am sure you understand what I am trying to say.
Coupe07, you are at a disadvantage because every step you make is being scrutinized by others. There are members here who think you have an hidden agenda with your presence. However, I would like to point out that coupe07 has been selling us the car stuff wayyy even before MG came along. But you sucked it all up and still ran your business even though your mood is affected by negative comments.
Flyer is innocent. Everyone knows that he is the most neutral member here (at least I know). His character is good must share…no good must say. And of course, his favorite mantra. Nothing is proven until evidence is given. I still remember how emperor and him will get into funny arguments/discussion (without the harsh words) and we are all still friends. For flyer to say negative comments means that there must be something wrong.

Okies, time for regroup and reconcilliation, let's all meetup at Kallang on the 2nd of Feb Friday night at 10.45pm and leave for a game of bowling and TCSS at Marina South. We will leave Kallang at 11.15pm sharp.

It is a shame that the group has split up like it has and I'm sure I can speak for all the newbies like myself - we'd like to meet everyone and attend bigger events.
I've met Derek and he is a nice chap, as I'm sure all of you are. So lets put aside this stupid little feud and stop acting like kids. Life really is too short to hold grudges and frankly I find it amusing that a bunch of adults can act so childishly.
Like it or not thats the truth. I'm a pretty direct person so do forgive my bluntness.
I am however still hoping that things can be resolved soon. Not trying to put the blame entirely on anyone here - but the actions of a few are actually affecting the entire group.
Surely that is not right?
I do applaud Derek's decision to come out and try and bury the hatchet - lets hope whoever else it is on the other side can come out and do the same.
