Cant choose, pls help

Hi guys,

Im new here. Hope to get your views and opinions on a problem im having deciding which 8 to get.

Here it goes, there are 2 cars available both brand new.

Car 1 has 2tone leather, navi w/o the dvd rom, electric seats lumber, no-xenon (can you believe that) and foglights and no cd player.

Car 2 has grey cloth semibucket seats, 6 airbags, xenon & foglight, aerokit w/wing.

Car 2 is RM8k cheaper than Car 1. Both are auto with 16' ugly rims.

Can anyone tell me how much does it cost to change to xenon and to get a pair of fog lights? How about the 18' standard type S rims cost? I would have taken Car 1 if it had xenon lamps, Kindly let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

Sounds like u r from Malaysia. Funny but i dun get the part which u mentioned navi w/o dvd rom. From what i understand, the navi system does not work in SIN bcos i have seen an RX8 which comes with the navi system here in SIn. Btw, how much do you have to pay for the 2 diff cars available in your country?

I havent seen the cars actually. Still fussing over the specs. All the info here was from a spec sheet and the sales guy told me whatever that is not on the sheet is not available. The navi doesnt work in Malaysia as well. They're bout RM220.

Any opinions on my questions??

How much do you think I can sell the aerokit for? I like the car plain and standard.

As for the price of the aerokit, guess u have to ask around to see how much those kits cost in Malaysia and take off a percentage from there. Would keep the kit on if I were you since they are already on the car unless u r thinking of changing to something more agressive. Which part of Malaysia r u at? We just had a meet-up last Sunday here in SIN and maybe you should join us for the next meet if you are near enough cos you get to see many RX8s here which I can say no two are the same cos most owners here have done something to their cars.

Wow, that's really way up north. Think someone from this forum drove to Penang immediately after picking up his 8 a couple of months ago. Keep us posted on the latest development alrite. We may arrange for a meet-up if someone here will get the much awaited drive-away to Malaysia organised quick enough!

I suggest to you that you make a list of what are the things that are important to you. Then you check out the price of them and see how much you need to add and subtract from the things you are willing to sell(maybe at 70% of the cost). Then see which option is cheaper at the end. No point fussing over the specs as they are not your ideal and you are definitely modifying it. Look at the end figure.

Sinner...out of curiosity, I'm assuming if you bot an 8 you'd have to get it serviced in KL. Have you scoped any qualified service shops for the 8 there? Would like to know for when I drive up to KL and may need some servicing before heading home (hope not, but jez in case).

Thanks for the advice guys. I was also surpirsed and asked the dealer to check over again y doesnt a car like this come with xenon lamps and fog lights.

I havent found a trustworthy service centre and I dont think there really is a reliable one here. So just hope and pray that nothing breaks.

i agree with cuscorex the extra airbags are important and you can't get them added in the first car.
