I am thinking of getting the RX-8 from MM (still not decided). Understand the car does not come with alarm, rear sensor and the stock speakers are not good.

1) Has anyone installed any alarm? Is Crimestopper or Viper compatible with the immobiliser?

2) For rear sensors, I am thinking of the concealed strip sensors that are installed within the bumper. Anyone tried this b4?

3) For speakers, can anyone give any recommendations? Apart from speakers, should anyone install amplifier and sub-woofer?

4) Anyone has Soundclad for their 8?

Try contacting RENESIS8, he could help with most of your concern you have now.
He's got alarm, rear sensor that's together with the license plate holder, and of course a sound system like no others.

Yeah Vamp, I agree with you. This forum is getting pretty quiet. I think sometimes when people put up posts with questions or whatever, they seem to get the standard "go search in previous post" answer. Kinda puts an end to the thread...

I will try to answer your questions in order....

1) Yes, many of us have installed aftermarket alarms. Almost all brands including those u mentioned can be fitted. :D

2) Dont know... But IMHO, shouldnt be too bad. :P

3) Many of us have installed/'supped' up our audio systems. JDM models come with BOSE 9 speaker system and IMO, it aint gd enuff!

Our 8 allows us to install 8 inch front speakers which will be good for mid-bass. Most Jap cars only cater for 61/4. I personally have installed an 8 2 way speaker up front cuz i am a Bass freak. Canton's the brand. Amps, Subs, Pre-Amps are a must for dynamic sound (Sam's favourite phrase :D). I have all those as well. If u listen to less bassy tunes and demand pure quality sounds, i recommend Focal, Rainbow, Diamond, etc etc. There r many out there, go compare prices based on your budget. SONY XES - Kudos! if u have the cash and if there is any left in SG....:D

4) Is dat some kinda sound-proofing? If yes, go ahead with it, definitely helps filter out road/tyre noise. Make sure u look for those who knows their **** and not any audio shop who offers cheap services/products.
