The picture was painted when he was in an asylum. So it is purely an work of memory. Perhaps his earlier search for religion could have influenced this painting as some of his other earlier works.

Glad u asked! Actually, not for any religious elements....but more because of a series of firsts. First car I've purchased in Sing, first rotary engine car for me, first time to participate in this forum. All having to do with "in the beginning...and it was good"

Had a long chat with a colleague today about V-cool. He's convinced me to go for it (in conjunction with all the great posts by Manwe and sqflyer on the subject). However, sqflyer says Huper is the better alternative. My colleague says V-cool treatment is possible for around $700, same as what sqflyer says that Huper is available. Given the choice between the two at the same price, which is the best one or does it really matter if they both cost the same?

 

For the same tint, V-Kool has better infrared and UV rejection. Common sense tell us that the darker the tint, the more rejection it'll have. So it is best to compare tint with similar light transmission(clarity). However, the difference is slight(negligible in my opinion). V-Kool of cos enjoys a better reputation. The gap between the two are narrowing in my opinion so it's the cost that really matters.

Since you can get both for same price, then I would suggest V-Kool. But first, you must find the lobang for cheap tinting. My previous car's tint was done thru some deal with the distributor....lost the contact already. The SE helped me do it for some discount and was done up when I collected the car. Dunno where to find lobang now. Maybe you can ask your colleague where to get cheap tint.

 

Genesis, I only said Huper is better b'coz of the price. If you have a contact to get the V-Kool for $700, then I'm all for it too. Let's pit them against each other so that the consumer (us) wins. :D

Isn't that only $3K less? Anyway, it doesn't help those of us who already got our 8s or those who have already booked. The price drop is probably due to the expected increase in the number of COEs?

 

Maybe due to fierce competition from PI.

I did read in the ST this week that COE prices for cars under 1.6L have fallen by just under $3k due to higher quotas since many older cars have expired. So looks like MM has immediately passed this savings onto the market (assuming bids at the lower rate are successful) to remain competitive with the PI's.

 

MAN! ultimate low down... just booked on monday.

 

But did you see the small print beside $136,988 (a word "Fr")
Guess that's the word FROM ... maybe something is remove from the original RX-8 we have ordered?
Nevertheless, I juz spoke to my SE, those book in Aug / early Sept, the shipment will be arriving 1 week of October, nothings goes wrong, the CAR should be deliver end of the month Oct or early Nov. Hope this will bring some excitment to some of the guys here including myself heehee
I forgot to ask my SE on the drop of the price. Will "cho cho" him tommorow morning and update you guys .

Hi watoke...no I didn't see the "Fr" in the ad. I was looking in yesterday's ST Classified on page C11, top ad. It just says "experience the exhileration from only $136,988!" I would be surprised if MM remove anything from the car...I believe it's purely COE price drop, but I could be wrong. What colour did you order? I booked in early Sept., but the blue, so my 8 may not come in until after this next shipment

 

They could easily remove some parts....eg fog lights, sunroof, lip spoiler... and no body would really bother. Or they could just be generous and give the original spec and the word from means you may add on(such as bodykit)

 

Great News !!! My SE just call me. The 3rd batch of the RX8 has arrived. I got my Chasis number and need me go down to submit my ic for registration. According to SE, delivery should be end of October, if not early Nov ... confirm.

I just called up my SE to screw him. He can tell me no chassis number yet how to check... Ganna big time from me. I told him I am not in car firm but that doesn't mean I am ignorant. Every purchase order would have a number that would be used as reference in a manaufacturing plant. In fact, it is a standard that they use PO number to check the process in WIPS, a system that tracks work progress in manufacturing. Tell him if he doesn't give me satisfactory answer by tomorrow I am going to complain and make sure he get no more sales. I can get family and friends to take turn and bug him non-stop and complain loudly he know nuts at the show room.

 

hahaha...never threaten never work....now i threaten him then he find out when the car is arriving. He said he called up japan and found out that it is ready for shipping. It is the only one in the cargo. Will arrive 7-10 days later....FINALLY!

 

Wah, I tot my SE sucks, think yours is worse! My god .. think he take u for a ride man.
At least now you know you will be able to get your car by end of Oct or early Sep.
