Hi...me bought the 3rd batch of RX8 from MM....really sianz thinking about it and waiting for the car....anyone in the same predicament? Any news on the exact date the car will be in??

I was in the same situation as u back in Apr and just collected my ride last week. Car typically arrive in wk 3 of the month and it takes about 1-2 wks before you can get it., 1wk or 2 will depend on MM's traffic n ur SE's "infuence" liow.:D

Dun think so much into it lah, time is like tha, u think of 3 months and it looks so darn long, but once the wait is over, u will think that its actually quite fast.

Oh yeah...at some point u will feel "bar" abt the waiting liow:D

 

but atleast the wait is worth it....

 

any1 waited more then 2.5 mths till dlivery?b it the 1st or 2nd batch. mi currently holdin 3 mth + 1 day record :p

of cos bro...majaim mi SE,onli noes hw to 'pressure' mi on signin the dotted lines but dun noe hw to 'pressure' the ppl processin the dlivery.
like in bro hok's case,took bout a wk aft the all neccess docu was submitted.mine ran a full 2 wks,wich the SE claimed max 14dayz...15 dayz in fact.(tis is wif som 'pressure' added to phillip)

Bought mine in early June...SE told me it will come by mid august....so at the rate things went for you guys I guess it will be end Aug....

I wanted 2 tones for the leather seat...so need to be specially indented. Plus booking fee also damn ex. 21k...

They bidded for my COE recently. Geez...COE down....

 

I booked mine in Jun and my SE called me at the beginning of Aug and told me that my baby is in Singapore liao.

Currently I'm overseas and won't be back until Oct, so I'm in no hurry to take delivery. My 8 is will hafta stay in the warehouse for 2 months!

Can't wait to get back and join you guys. Next meet up, I'll bring my DSLR to snap lots of pics. :D

Ha ha ... I just got mine one week ago ..end of July. Good stuff ....drove up to Penang straight away.... but did not really floor the car ...still running in. but overall stability was good. And the fuel consumption if you put in Shell V-power (Malaysian Fuel) on highway cruise is about 10 - 10.5 Km/L. Hope this will be an added info to the rest of future Rx8 owner.

 

who else booked their cars in jun? I booked mine on 12th and no news yet. Sigh....

 

I booked mine in the 3rd week of June and my SE told me that my baby is already in SG (since 1st Aug), though I won't be collecting until end Sept. Sorry dunno why yours is taking until Oct. Patience...

 

I change the seats to two tone red/black. It takes slightly longer. But if yours is arriving, I don't see why mine would take that long.... patience wearing thin...heh heh...

 

Aiyah... that's why it takes extra time for yours lor. Actually, I first went to MM in April but didn't place my booking until June. At first my SE told me it would arrive in late Aug but dunno why the shipment arrived early. What's the ETA for yours?

 

Est 0ct. I called up my SE. He said no news. Sometimes they do arrive early. I personally don't think changing some stupid leather can take so long. Gimme the leather seats and i think i can change it in a day. heh heh.

mm doesn't bring in auto...need a PI. Look around... a lot of them got from PI...ask them for advice.... I dun like auto cars...so no comments abt it

 

Just be glad you got the option to change the seats colours. Don't think they allowed us to change the seat leathers when I made my booking.

Just keep a lookout for the postings for the next meet up. You can also try to PM the auto 8 owners to ask them about their autos. I'm getting a manual from MM so can't tell you much about the auto, but you can PM me if you want some general info on the RX-8.

 

Think they did allow when you booked. I booked mine on 12/6. Before you. I think I am the first to be given option. If you booked 3rd week jun, then you should be allowed to change too. Your SE slack...never tell you anything. But booking fee is higher if you change anything.

By the way, those who just gotten their cars recently, did you get the tinted rear window? Or did they change it to clear? Since the cars are not JDM I'm wondering.....

 

For the new shipment of 8s coming in via Garage R, they have rear original tinted windows. 24.5%, just pass. And privacy glass for the 2 rear side windows. The rest are tinted as well.

Not sure about MM though, heard they've replaced it with Clear glass.
