Try grounding. Make sure with people who knows exactly where to ground do the job. Not any kuching kurat.

My 8 or rather RX-8 needs 9 grounding wires to be complete. Dont just go buy a splitfire or HKS and think u r done. I am definitely seeing more mileage after i did my grounding. COST:$300

9 wires?! that's quite different to the Mazda's Grounding Kit for the 8. Any idea if the connecting points are of any different to the Mazda's which feature in the carzommer's thread?

Hmm, looking at it mine definitely had more grounding points. If u look at the original ones Mazda did. Its the typical tiny puny stereo red black wire. GUess one of the guys sorta explain what grounding does already.
