Yes it will be a daily driver, and yes it will be garaged.

I must admit if I was buying a car to be a 2nd car/toy it would not be an RX8, but more likely something faster and more impractical...

The car will get daily use and sometimes be garaged. I'm thinking of investing in retro-fitting an electric opening system but not sure how to go about it.

Anil,

I fitted an electric opener from Wickes about 2 years ago (about £150). It was quite easy and I wouldnt be without it.

I garage my scooby every night and it means I can drive straight into the garage without getting out of the car to open it. The remote works just as Im turning into my street so by the time Im at my house the garage door is open!

Also in the mornings I get into the car and drive straight out of the garage, so I dont get wet if its raining.

Best £150 I ever spent.

Many thanks MarkW. I will pop off to Wilkes (one not to far) and have a look. Mark, what do you have in the garage, as I know some floors "peel away" (paint ones I think) if the tyres are hot. Presently I have a concrete floor.

Daily Driver fo me also.

I will put the car in the garage when the looks of my neighbours turn from envy to desire. I thinkk it will be too much for them to bear seeing such a fantastic car in front of them every evening.

I would have thought that most people would buy this car for a daily drive, the four seats make it a practical choice.
Shame - I haven't got a garage though

I will be a daily driver with overnight garage with remote control.

As Mark said, remote control well worth the investment to save having to get out the car all the time. Also locking system safer than standard locks which can be picked too easily. Only problem is in 4 years I am on my 4th remote, as either kids keep loosing them or house swallows them up.

Daily driver, no hope of ever getting it in my garage tho.

If I had 2 cars I'd be going for a much less practical 2 seater.

Daily driver here also. Somewhere at the moment between 20-25k a year.

Won't be garaged tho - my other baby gets that (although maybe i'll treat it for a few weeks when it arrives :D)

Daily driver from Bagshot to Slough past Ascot Racecourse, through Windsor Great Park and Legoland, past the castle (well can see it) and onto sunny slough (!). 30 miles a day until I visit power stations in places such as Barrow in Furness, Grimsby or Barry in Wales....

so in total, guess around 12-15K a year.

Garaged of course...

looking for an auto door thing for the cardale garage which from what I understand is harder to automate?!

Have a look at this website for garage door automation, it might give you some ideas.
