What's the ordering process?

Hi

I placed an order (at last) for a Winning Blue with my dealer just over a month ago. Paid the £1000 deposit - delivery expected April/May. I've had no further contact since that day. On the day I was given a 'New/Used Vehicle Order Form' listing the model, options and price. But I've heard nothing from Mazda - should I have? I want to make sure I get my ProDrive!

Should I phone the dealer?

Wait.

Wait.

Receive letter telling you how wonderfull the car is.

Wait.

Receive letter telling you how wonderfull the car is, oh and something about a month or so delay.

Wait.

Wait.

Receive letter stating a possible delivery month, if the ship has the righ sails fitted or something. Mentions a date(1) by which you'll be adviced of a more accurate date.

Wait.

Date(1) passes.

Wait.

Get informed by letter that date(1) was just a laf, sorry to pull your leg, dealers may know more, or less, when the temp has finished keying in some details.

Wait.

Dealer knows a date! but not what the date means.

Wait.

Some ****** on the innerweb posts pics of His car at a dealers lot. Still no firm delivery date, only the majical 'date' the temp keyed in.

Evil,

I received an e-mail confirmation within a few days and then received a "welcome pack" confirming my order, about 3 weeks later. I then had a phone call from Mazda UK, about a week ago, confrming (again) the details of my order.

I should add that I ordered on 21st September.

Hope this helps!

Rob, Can't you take pleasure in others getting their car before you. Just think...Mazda will have ironed out the 'glitches' before your car comes...

My cars been built, and has been ready to be delivered to my dealer since 26/10. No chance for glitches to be ironed out now.

Besides, The RX-8 has been on Japans roads for seven months now.

... thanks Rob!... I guess someone had to post that!! :-)

Murphy - thanks - we ordered the same date! Mine's a blue so it's not due for some time (the 'second coming' so to speak!). Perhaps I'll give the dealer a ring and check to see when I get a 'welcome pack'.
