What Car Road Test Directory
RX-8 is included in full in the April-May Issue.
Out of 336 cars only 9 get 5 out of 5 (exceptional) overall and the RX-8 is one of them.
Here is a list of the others:
Mercedes S Class
BMW M5
BMW M3
Ferrari 360
Mercedes SL
Porche 911
Porche Boxter
Vauxhall VX220
Full marks on 'Ride and Handling', 'Equipment', 'Buying and Owning', 'Quality and Reliability' and 'Safty and Security Equipment'.
Four out of five on 'Performance', 'Refinement', 'Behind the Wheel' and 'Space and practicality'.
I wasn't aware they had done a road test of the 8 in their monthly mag, so I was suprised to find it in the directory.
It's a great article tomorrow I might type it verbatim and post it up on the main forum.
Sorry can't scan and post the article.

Good article and thanks for posting it. Two questions:
1. Don't all cars need a few revs to move off smoothly?
2. I'd hope it would handle better than an Audi-TT. The latter is renowned for poor handling in its class and if the RX-8 couldn't beat it I'd quickly cancel my order!

I've got a copy of the magazine as well. The review seems to be based on a trip to japan that a lot of reviewers have had.
They don't really say a great deal about the car, apart from liking it a lot. I don't think they've had a chance to really put it through its paces yet, as they keep saying "when we get hold of one in the uk we'll...."
But they give it higher marks than the TT:D
I'm waiting to see what Clarkson makes of it..........

Dont forget the Stig......
M.
PS - Clarkson is keener on the 350 so far... (or at least was in Feb topgear mag - but that was on 'anticipation' rather than an actual test. His main reason for the RX8 was being able to say the work 'Wankel' in polite company... !
