So m8 ... how are you getting the data ... is this ship being tracked with purplefinder and if so how can we do it ourselves?

You should have two different coloured squarea, one for where the boat really is and one for where Mazda think it is.

Made me laugh though.

How does a boat go to the UK from Japan, looks like a LONG LONG trip. Just wondering, does it cut up between africa. Would it be faster to drive accross the continent?

So, RX-Late ... ru making this up or is it for real? If it's for real, how often do you update it?

Hey RX-Late, why only update it once per day, have you accessed a location page that only updates once per day?

Unfortunately, the tracker is not real :-(

Basically it works by dynamically creating a new .png world map image each day based upon a set of X, Y coordinates stored in a flat file. The X, Y values are used to move the red square. Nothing sophisticated. Gives Mazda some idea of what would be achievable using a GPS system in their ships though :-) Don't rely on the position of the ship too much - its all guess work. But, what the h*ll it provided me with a simple program to show my students.

Oh! no! It's taken a wrong turn!!!

Does this mean another two weeks to add to our delivery dates!

The boat was supposed to go through the Suez Canal and then continue on to Europe via the Med.

Perhaps that's what the delay is in us not recieving our delivery date letters now.

RX-Late, plaese fix your tracking software. Some of us do use this as a sort of yardstick for delivery. (Very Sad I know)

Oh my god! It seems we have a problem.

The ship appears to be off the north coast of Alaska, somewhere in the Arctic Circle acording to the latest map!!
