Tax rate?

Okay been looking into the tax band for the RX-8 and as we know it's a 1.3 rotary engine which should put it in the lower Tax band i.e below 1549cc.

But those lovely people at the VCA have decided that any vehicle registered on or after 1st March 2001 is taxed based on its emissions

So it will fall into Band D (Over 185) and will therfeore be £85.25 for 6 months and £155 for 12 months.

The capacity of the engine is determined by comparisson to a 4 stroke piston engine which revolves twice to complete its cycle, thus 2 revolutions of the 8's engine makes it a 2.6.

Yes but what has that got to do with the tax rate?

It's now based on emissions and not capacity.

This is how it goes in Belgium with taxes..

The Motor has 240Hp. Same as the Honda S2000. In tax group 11.
So I have to pay a one time tax of 495 Euro.
And yearly I have to pay 316.54 Euro.

How is it with taxes in England?? Can somebody tell me?
Thnx
