Brushed or polished ?
Had to make the call at the weekend having seen neither for real and went for brushed (on titanium car)

I should have broken it by colour too....
If I had a red one , I too would go polished. (prefer the finish, and will look great on the red).
Titanium I worry they will just blend too much , so brushed it was.

Hmm this is a REAL toughie.
I was brushed all of the way until I saw Danny A's piccies of the silver car (which I have preordered for the one person who doesn't know this!), which looking closely at his post are almost certainly polished. This will be the same therefore as the mazda badge on the front of the car, and thus accentuate the pair of them.
I'm leaning therefore polished ATM, and have therefore voted as such.
On a different note : Bugger, bugger bugger! Anyone good at colour matching paints?! About 1/3 of our house is painted a certain colour, inherited when we moved in 2 yrs ago. As its a matt finish, its perfect for kids (not!). I dont mind touching it up, and fortunately the previous owners left pots for the other rooms (which are all small and some have since been repainted anyway - uuurgh dark green bathroom I think not - even though I know what they have tried to do - make the paint darker than the light green bathroom suite, but it just makes the suite more green - sorted now!) Anyway, where was I - oh yes, its probably an old Laura Ashley colour. Called them, no joy on old colour cards from 5 yrs ago, although I have managed to get the last 2.5l pots of our hall and landing in existence from them! So I have tried the dulux colour matching thing. Problem is, that even then theres only (!) 1200 colours to choose from, and 4 are close (lots of sample pots knocked up at £2 a shot!) but none are perfect. I have called Dulux, but they are pants, and actually, shock horror B&Q are my best bet at the mo, cos theres a bloke there, Terry who's really helpful and we have tried lots. He's given up saying go for the darkest and then just add white until it matches. I don't want to paint the rest of the house, I know I'm off this week on paternity leave and therefore this is about the only chance I will have to do it, but heck...
Hmm, wonder what finish paint I should have, matt (brushed) or silk (polished) :D
I feel better now, I'm having a beer. Wonder if Ben will keep waking us every 2 hrs on the dot tonight....

Renegade,
Are you losing the plot, dont worry you have only 8-12 weeks of sleepless nights to come. Thats the official line anyway, but dont believe it. Never mind UP THE WOLVES.
Anyway back to the strakes, as previously mentioned in earlier posts I am still undecided. I thought the brushed strakes would look good alongside the brushed wheels and then have the polished rotary emblem on the bumber to match the polished Mazda badge on the bonnet. Ideally would like to see side by side comparisons on photos or in the flesh before ordering.

I was brushed but now undecided. I may follow the same route as Topic with brushed strakes and polished emblems. (Tit)
Do we need to order the accessories now or will the dealers have a good stock of them ready to fit to our cars just before delivery?

I can't make up my mind! I have seen a Titanium car with strakes, but I can't remember if they were polished or brushed. Ideally I would like to see both beside the car before deciding. I have also heard that the brushed rotory crests look naff, but having not seen any to compare I really don't know. I am also not sure if mixing polished crests with brushed strakes is the way to go. Damn you Mazda for making me chose! Help!

As A black owner to be I think I'd prefer brushed, with the standard wheels. I think polished might clash...

I have seen the (polished) light!
Forgive me my past madness.
I've no idea why but my perception of the 'air outlet fins' changed today and now I need them bad...

You think spending £170 on 4 small pieces of aluminium is going soft do you? I call it advanced masochism...

Nooooooo...
I've got the outlet fins on order too.
First I find out I'm not going to be the only Titanium Grey owner in Cambridge, but I have the slight comfort that at least he doesn't like the "strakes" and now he has to go and do this.....

Argh, I'm bordering on tears now...
Maybe we should all pick them up at the same time, have a convoy of Titanium Grey RX8s leave Priory (I'm guessing you're using Priory) all at the same time

I've ordered mine from Garneys and Hill in Bury. It's the same distance and time for me to travel there.
I used them for my Seat servicing and they seem to be good guys. Their showroom is much better organised than Priory.
However - first one to get there tit grey rx8 allows the other cambridge rx8ers to have an oggle - I've not seen a tit grey in the flesh!

Also: having my Trackstar system fitted will delay my delivery slightly.
Have either of you Priory guys got a date yet (sorry if I've missed it)?
