Mazda are writing to all pre-orders to inform them of this and and give a delivery date. We should expect the letters by the end of next week.

Oh for god's sake. We are talking about a product with a value of between 20 and 25k, and having taken our money as much as 9 months ago they STILL cant tell us when they built it, when it shipped/will ship, or when we will get it. I work for Dell and our manufacturing plant in Ireland (one of 6) produces as many as 30,000 units a DAY, and we can tell you where it is in production/testing etc!
SORT IT OUT MADZA. YOU ARE LOOKING MORE INCOMPETENT BY THE DAY!

Stock Control
Don't mazda have any type of stock control at all?
How the hell are they still in business if they don't know stuff like what they've built, where it is etc.
What a shambles.

In Mazda's defense:
The trip by boat is approx 25 days -- weather dependent
Customs are a law unto themselves, so they can't guarantee that (look at the American experience)
They are trying to balance demo stock with customer orders
They've got the torque issue which may be having an effect
And ......
They ran out of titanium paint and just don't want to let you guys know j/k

EDIT: Hold on a minute: production wasn't due to start until July 28th so if the August 1st start is true we've only lost a couple of days. The ship should leave near as damnit on time.
