RX8 stall at idle and run too rich

Hello evereyone.

I post my problem here because I’ve search for weeks now and can’t figure what my problem is.
Lets start with the beginning of the story.
I had to rebuild my engine, I change it all and streetported it. I put everything back in place and start the engine. The engine start and keep stalling. Rookie mistake, I forgot to reset the PCm for the shaft sensor. It was better but still stall at idle, rough idle. Another rookie mistake was found, I inverted fuel injectors wires. Still no resolve the problem…
I know the PCM need some time to learn how to fuel the car so I decided to drive it around the block but it show me another problem, everytime I push the gas pedal it struggle for 1-2 sec and then it goes well (I’ll try to upload a video to show this soon), but everytime I get off my foot and put it back on the pedal, it will do that.
Driving it comes also with a lot of backfire. I check the plugs and they’re black, so it’s sure, the car run too rich!

I looked over vaccum leakage, found nothing, check the ignition (D585 coils) they’re good, I took my compression, 100km after the rebuild and I got 105-107PSI for all faces and front and rear, so not really great but not bad at all I guess!
So now I don’t know where to look up to find the problem.. For me it may be a sensor trouble, may be the MAF or the throttle body, I’m waiting for remplacement parts but I’m scared it won’t be that..

About my setup : D585 ignition coils and wires, NGK plugs. K&N air filter, and a full exhaust from toyosport (decat pipe). I don’t change those during the rebuild. I just add a oil pressure regulator during the rebuild.

If anyone have a clue for me to solve this problem, I’ll take it!

Thank you in advance and sorry for the bad English!

Check that the injectors are connected to the correct wires and the correct injectors are in the correct slots. They're easy to mix up and would cause overfueling if badly connected.

It was indeed the injector wiring in my case. The car runs perfect now. Thanks a bunch Loki! \m/
