Rx8 Mazdaspeed Aero Kit

There is a Mazdaspeed body kit on UK Ebay. It's only got a couple of hours to run though.

Seems a very good price - I wonder how much a Mazda dealer would charge to fit it?

It was withdrawn with less than 30 mins to go!

It was listed at the beginning of October with a start bid of £4000, and no bids.

It was relisted and this time the start bid was £1. No wonder it was withdrawn as it only reached £1020!

Was wondering if anyone else was thinking of getting this? I'm thinking about the front bumper anyway - I like the slighlty meaner look it gives the car. japanparts.com have it for 750, just in the process of finding out how much to get it here however.

I was wondering what happens with the headlamp washers though - if they can re-fit them - or maybe I go without them and get the clearer lines...?

orbist - if you have xenon headlights in a new car it is EU law that headlight washers are fitted. I would image that this would be an MOT failure without them. But the front does look nice

Thanks jimbobjoe - didn't realise EU had made that a law. Wierd - is it something to do with dirt on the lenses causing problems for other drivers?

I plan to leave the units out for the moment when I fit the kit as I prefer the look without the washers. Didn't realise they were a legal requirement though...

I dont have a copy of the rules to hand, but I'm pretty sure that Xenon lights are required now to be self levelling and self cleaning. This is because they are so much brighter and can dazzle oncoming traffic if dirty or badly adjusted.

Just look at the dodgy aftermarket xenons that people are fitting to 'ordinary' cars and you'll see how bad they can be.
