M3 beats RX-8!

I got my RX-8 this morning and said farewell to my M3.

I've got to say even after only half a days driving I have had more fun in the 8 than I ever did in the M3.

I feel so more confident taking it around the twisties. I had a play in the M3 before departing with it and then took the 8 on the same B road for comparison. The 8 is far better at dealing with the bumps and corners it's very sweet.

I thought I would notice the big drop in HP from 343 to 230 but I don't. I just don't care! The sound of that rotary is just out of this world.

I take my hat off to Mazda. If I remember correctly they based a lot of the chassis rigidity on the M3 and bettered it.

My Bose system is ace, only a little bit of rattle coming from one of the front speakers but I'm sure that will be easily cured. The sound is far clearer and a lot more depth than I could ever achieve with the 10 speaker HK system in the BMer.

I am so so happy today.

I'll get some pictures posted once the "b1tch" returns my camera.

If anyone still has doubts about there car - don't - you will not be disappointed.

Off out for another drive
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sorry mate... its been a long day and I'm tired and emotional!

I read the title, took it literally and expected you to say how much better than the RX8 the M3 was.

Missed the hook!

Erm, dont get me wrong, I do love RXs in general (and the RX8 of course), but it seems to me a bit strange that the RX8 (a generously called "sports coupe/sedan") could beat -on any level- the M3, which is the epitomy of the "sports coupe" category.......

If you managed to get a better time with the RX8 on a specific route, then its probably something that you were doing wrong.

Ace - it's nothing to do with performance. I don't doubt the M3's in the category.

What I am trying to get at is that the 8 beats it hands down on looks, build quality, equipment for price, handling, interior materials, etc. Having been lucky enough to own an M3 I have had the experience of one over 15 months and I am glad to have got rid of it. It just didn't float my boat so to speak.

Obviously all In My Own Opinion.

The ace, someone that is having your footer should not give any advice on cars ...

In case you haven't noticed, there is a 911 in the middle of the list, which is, by far, THE sport car currently. But price is quite not the same ...

No possibility to hesitate with the list of choice, so allow me not to believe you are an expert in cars

A lot of M3 owners I know have reported me that they were selling their car for a lack of emotion. I stopped buying one after a test drive. VERY efficient car, but poor impressions afterwards.

On the other hand, trying once a rotary is an experience you will not forget, especially if you come from motorcycle (sporty ones). RX8 is like a motorcycle on 4 wheels. That's about it

My 2 eurocents

OK, I'll agree to the fact that the RX8 is above the M3 in laughs-per-euro, simply because the M3 is rather expensive. However, I dont think that the M3s (and especially the E46) are "boring", "heartless" or anything else for that matter.......Of course, each one of us has his/her own opinion, so all's good

However Stephan, if you actually bothered to read my footer a little more carefully, you would notice that I say ".....REX-less", which means that I did have and know RXs and rotaries in general. Which means that I DO KNOW what I'm talking about......

What's more, you have NO IDEA how I ended up compiling the "car list", so you have NO OPINION about my car knowledge and expertise. Also, you obviously have little or no knowledge of tax and price issues outside France (why would you anyway ?), so you cannt simply say "911 is THE sport car, so no possibility to hesitate". What the heck, it would be just the same for me to say that you are a bad driver, merely based on the -very generic- fact that French drivers are the worst in the world.....

Our Belgium Friends

My answer wasn't aggressive and insulting - definitly not yours.

I lost my time with you, and your answer is actually proving it.

BTW, I suggest you give a chance to the murcialego in your list, perhaps with some tax differences you will be able to afford one ... and wait the DB9, could worth a look.

In response to "the Ace" I would just like to say that I think I have best knowledge on this one since I have owned an E46 M3 from new and now own the RX-8. I could have happily stayed with the M3 but chose the RX-8 after one test drive. I did order the car sometime ago with an idea that it might be nice but when I drove it I was blown away.

Your laughs-per-eur line is rubbish it's not about that at all. No offence :-)

Thanks mate, at least I don't feel alone on this one

Once again : Both are great, but different, if you want a real driving experience, a more "organic" one (copyright Mspec), the take the 8.

If you have more money and want something more brutal and electronic - but for me with less sensations - then take the M3.

And if you have a lot of money, just take a 911 like The Ace

Stephan, you are either incapable of understanding my comments, or you choose not to understand them. Stupid or blind-folded, I leave the choice up to you......
My reply was insulting ? Exactly at what point did I insult you ? I could have made the same generalization as you, but I didnt. Thats as close to an insult as I got in my reply....

However, your post was indeed insulting:
The ace, someone that is having your footer should not give any advice on cars ...
No possibility to hesitate with the list of choice, so allow me not to believe you are an expert in cars
The fact that you mistook my explanations as insults probably proves your level of intelligence.

And you "lost your time with me" ? Thats about as condescending and stupid as it can get.......not to mention that you have NO IDEA how much my manhour costs......

And if you are also unable to comprehend why I brought up the price/tax issue, and all you get out of that is that I'm rich.....then I cannt help you there. Maybe in the future, when brain transplants are possible, then maybe you'll get your chance......

And Lucozade, please read my post carefully as well:
Of course, each one of us has his/her own opinion, so all's good
My "laughs-per-euro" argument is rubbish ? Well, the correct IS "smiles-per-euro", but I'm sure glad you had a ton of arguments to back up your theory......

ok well we are all stupid ... and misread you.

Sorry to have borrowed 5 minutes of your "manhour cost" pouhahahahahah !!!!

I will laugh if it wasn't sad.

Just something : check the word "irony" in a dictionnary, it will be helpful for your social relationships in the future.

"Discussion" closed for me, as this is not constructive. Tried to explain you were wrong by saying to Erm is was a bad driver, based on the fact you had in your footer "i am hesitating between a 911 and an RX8, M3, S2K, Elan and RX7.

I was even putting some smileys to be nice, but you continue to be the one to have the truth and us, poor brainless people, we have just to shut it up ...

So continue to be a Troll, sorry for the inconvenience.

I have never been called a Troll in my whole life, and I will most certainly wont allow a /*edited by me to remove vulgar language*/ to call me that

.........As to my knowledge and association with RXs, check http://www.rx7club.com/forum. It will do you some good anyway.....

Why bother anyway ? ..............No need to rub it in......indeed, thread closed.

Can a mod please close this useless thread ? (and my apologies to the thread starter for messing up your thread man)

EDITED: After a few seconds of thought, its really not worth it getting steamed up by someone else's stupidity.......
