Rev limiter beep - can it be adjusted?

My rev limiter beep appears to be very low in volume. It's very hard to hear it at all.

Is anybody having the same problem/is it easy to fix?

I really don't want to leave my car with the dealer if I can avoid it.

When I test drove the 8 I could not hear the beeper either but the rev noise was adequate to judge.

I had no problem hearing the beeper on any of the 3 test drives but never had the stereo on. Is it when you have music on at the same time or just generally?

I am following the run in procedure but as said it doesn't actually say don't go above a certain rev limit for a while. Yes behave for the first 600 miles but it's nice to hear the rev's go up every now and then.

The mazda saleswoman that came out with me on the test drive gave me the filthiest look when the buzzer sounded for a split second as I was just changing out of third! We both heard it ok!

Mental note - don't buy an ex-demo :D

I've accidentally strayed above 8500rpm a couple of times and haven't heared the beep over the roar of the exhausts.

I've bounced off the rev limiter twice somewhere very close to 10000rpm. which I really didn't mean to do. To make up for it I'm not going above 7000rpm until 600miles (220 to go). I'll then be obligued to check it out to make sure there isn't a fault

Cheers
---Dave
