cheers all!
Wow thanks for that Zoom and co, and there was l real worried l would upset someone in here by stepping on toe's but hopefully all will see l mean no harm and am just real interested in more info like all of you in here .

l will try and answer the last couple of Q's,

The July date has come from an official press release that was posted to me.

Don't know where the blue RX-8 is now hiding but l suspect it's the Formula Woman car destickered and now road registered
( the one in Auto Express last week )

My Lisa happens by coincidence to work on the floor above Mazda HQ! and all she's seen is Mazda 6s so if she see's RX-8s l will let you know .

BTW Zoom 44 l am underway with a few more little mods with my
car like , 99 nose (less No plate plinth) , new engine and big T04B single Turbo !.

One day away and were up to 4 pages and talking of trips to geneva!

Clives post is welcome, any help and info is well appreciated.

I think we should still continue with our email though, as long as JSC is still around to help.

I dont mind finalising the mail on the weekend making the changes requested, and forwarding it to JSC.

If you still want to do this, email me your details in the next couple of days.

I wont send anything till we are all happy with it.

Cheers
Mark

Hi all,
Morgan and MarkW have raised some good questions and points. I'm increasingly thinking though that if I supply the contact details to one of you regular board forum members that it might be better as it'll probably be in more capable hands then. There seems to be a level of knowledge/enthusiasm that I can't quite match yet (maybe when I get closer to affording one!). If one of you wants to PM me I'll reply ASAP with the details, thanks

Guys,

Jonathan (JSC) has kindly provided me with the contact details so I can get the email done.

I suggest we use this wisely as we dont want to pi$$ these guys off at Mazda, but rather encourage them to include us in any info they can share be it official or unofficial.

If you give me your details etc as I said above, I will finalise the email over the next few days.

Cheers
Mark

Is this chap the same as JSC has for a contact or do we now potentially have 2 ?

"l hear what you say and will admit that we have been frusterated by the lack of fresh info coming from them, and they know we are actively trying to help them sell this car as l said to them a long time if their involvement with us only sold ten more cars thats 1/4 of a million in the bank for Mazda!

As for your list of questions if you pass them to me l will send them down to the person in Mazda HQ that has been assigned to our club who happens to be the main person in charge of selling the RX-8 in the U/K !

As a club though we are now very honored that we are on their press release list and our full members will from now on receive the new quaterly magazine and RX-8 info through their doors, we beleive we are only the second club on the planit to receive such assistance with the other being SoCal in the U/S. "

Thoughts ?

Morgan.

Hi Morgan,

Just reread through your post and realised a there are couple of pieces don't really read that well and/or could do with a little explaining !

l should have stated it's the Mazda magazine and RX-8 publicity info our members will receive from now on .

And all l put was we had a person assigned to the club, Doh it don't read that good does it!!

l have spent 16/17 months badgering Mazda for info/help about the forthcoming RX-8 ( nicely ) we even
approached and received guidance from Dan , Berne , Kelvin Hirashi ( who helped design the RX-8 in Cal) and Koby ( ex Mazda corp. and God father of the RX-7) on how to approach Mazda thankyou to all,

They said it was just a matter of chipping away politely to establish any sort of contacts,l would also like to thank Glenn Butcher for contacting the above for us ( our web man ).

We did this because as they now know we actually believe we can help Mazda U/K sell these cars and also give new owners an insight into the heritage of their wonderful new machine through seeing our older vehicles in the flesh ( we even have a member with a pristine 110s Cosmo) , but we need a little assistance from them as well !

Once Mazda took over the reins again and reorganised last Christmas we started to find that the new staff where a little more interested, it also helped that their new offices were now 5 miles from my door, after being bounced around for a wile we were then asked to write a letter to Mazda's MD outlining what we could do for them and what we wanted in return,as a result of this letter we were assigned a contact person within Mazda.

And this now should explain how Mazdarotaryclub.com was fortunate enough to have a person to contact and give assistance to our club.

Sorry to waffle on but this should hopefully make things seem a little clearer.

All the Best Clive.

I agree that we should make contact with Mazda directly as I think we represent many more purchasers, just one look at our site would confirm that.

Who and how should I contact and what details are required?

Hi Rael,

Apparently Mark has sent a list / letter to someone at Mazda, so lf it's any help contact me with your name address and where you put your deposit as l will be talking to them and sending my list down Wednesday,

l had one of your forum members add his name last week.

May be of interest, l am talking with AON direct ( with no brokers in the middle) about a special insurance deal for RX-8 members.
