Questioned 'MazdaMag'
All -
I have sent the following to the address in the bag of the 'Mazdamag' last night....
Will post as soon as I hear.
Time running out before Friday.....
Morgan.
----------------
Dear Mazdamag -
I write concerning an article on the forthcoming RX8 - P16-17 in the latest 'Mazda' magazine.
I am a member of a number of RX8 discussion forums on the internet , and am in contact with a significant number of people who have already demonstrated their enormous faith in Mazda by committing their £1000 via their dealers.
(I myself placed my £1000 deposit mid-January).
The aforementioned article has caused some concern - namely that it implies that people ordering on-line on the 28th of Feb with go to the 'front of the queue'. The implication being that they will get in front of those of us who have already put our money down !
Could you please confirm where we stand with dealer orders already placed ?
Will internet orders get in front of us ? Or will internet orders be satisfied after those of us who have already deposited ?
A prompt response would be appreciated - as Friday is looming closer all the time...
Yours sincerely -
Morgan Rogers

Wow - This is all new ! 3 new colours ????
OK - Good news is Dealer pre-orders first , then web+dealers orders placed after 28th Feb.
We should all chase our dealers though...
Here is the reply - (names removed to prevent deluge - will supply to regulars upon request)

Mr Rogers,
thank you for your note regarding the Mazda RX-8 and thank you for placing a deposit. Do not worry if money has been deposited on a car already then you will be at the head of the queue during the launch of the website dealers will definately have initial precedence on orders from the people who have been good enough to lodge their deposits with the dealers. However you need to check with your dealer that they are following up on your orders with head office.
After we have received these initial dealer orders we will then take orders, either from the dealer or from the internet on a first come first served basis. Once we have channelled all the orders through to Japan we can then start to update dealers and customers on a monthly basis on the status of their orders via the internet site.
However, when you receive your vehicle will be dependant upon which vehicle you have ordered. The first batch of vehicles will be predominently high power and only in certain colours, these being, Velocity Red, Sunlight Silver, Solid Black and Titanium. We will then match orders to this stock and order vehicles accordingly to meet customers demand as soon as possible. Winning Blue, Nordic Green and Lightning Yellow will be available from October onwards, low power will also have better availability from this time.
Hopefully this has put you and your colleagues minds at rest!

I presume our orders will have to be firm once they get logged by our dealers at the end of this week. Do we know all the options yet? I'm still a bit unhappy about all this, especially the colour.

Rael -
Everything I have seen says the same thing.
Red , Silver , Black , or Titanium at launch.
All leather black except in Red car , where you can have 2 tone.
What are you looking for that you think cannot be supplied ?
If you know then ask the question direct - I thought you had not decided yet ?

Could be 'make you mind up' time!:D
On the other hand as I remember somone saying the orders won't be sent to Japan until mid March, so you still may have a little time left to decide. The dealer should know the dead-line by then.
Perhaps that was another question we could have asked Mazda UK?
