Mazda Dealer

Hey, just got back from my Mazda dealer

Here is what he told me.

He said that it doesn't matter when they put the order in, the dealer orders will by fulfilled first. He said that he didn't have to wait until midnight to put in the orders

Also he told me about the new colours. Mazda are going to start producting the new colours around October. This means that it will take at least three months for the cars to arrive here. So expect delivery sometime next year.

One other thing he said, which is worrying to people like me who have ordered just the leather, is that there is a strong possibility that leather will only be available with sat nav in this first batch of cars.

One last thing he said is that in the next few months there will be a few cars floating about the dealer network. He wasn't sure of the exact date, but he will let me know if he hears anything.

Anyway, should know a lot more in the coming weeks.

Just thought you guys should know.

Beware

Make sure your dealer isn't trying to push an extra option, you don't need.

He may be telling porkies to make a little extra commision.

I don't think that was the case and I'll tell you why.

Mainly because he said that he wanted to wait and see what the website says when it is launched on Friday.

Also, he said he would input my order as it is and see what happens.

Still I am not too fussed as I was considering the sat nav anyway, but I do think it will **** a lot of people off.

Still, thanks for the warning

Got to say, I was thinking of sat Nav.

I visit sites around the country a lot for my job, and it may be useful. I've always obviously used the traditional map reading, ask for direction stuff, but has anyone got Sat nav on their current cars?

Is it useful and are you getting your monies worth?

After all its a £1500 option.

Any comments??

I spoke to my dealer today too. He says that all of the website orders will be passed on to dealers anyway, and will essentially go on the end of that dealer's waiting list. He said that no cars will be supplied direct by Mazda.

He is still no wiser about colours etc - he started off saying that all the cars in the first batch would be silver (!) and that if I wanted a car quickly that I'd have to take what I was offered (!!) but when I asked for more details he said that the cars would be built to order. Apparently Mazda don't allow changes to orders once they have been confirmed (he said Ford and others allow changes up to the build date) but that he would be phoning each customer prior to final confirmation, asking them to sign a piece of paper with the details. He doesn't know if/when he will be getting colour swatches.

I used to have a car with Sat Nav. It is a very good system, very easy to use. The dealer told me that it was connected to the traffic monitors, so it picked the least busy route.

The other thing my dealer told me is he heard a rumour that Mazda have already pre-specced the first batch of cars. Now all they are going to do is try match customer to car.

He also said that the order the cars get delivered in is the pre-order date, which the dealer has a list of. So people who order on the website will have a later date then the people who have already ordered, regardless of the order they are inputted into the system.
