I don't know the make or specification of the alarm/immoboliser system that we get. Hree it is sufficient to tell the insurer that it is a factory fitted system. That is because we have an organisation in England called Thatcham, who evaluate all new cars for safety and security (along with other factors such as repair costs), to provide the insurance industry with accurate information.

The security in the rX-8 exceeds the normal expected levels for its class, and has resulted in the car being placed in a cheaper insurance band.

http://www.thatcham.org/

I don't know if there is a European equivalent to this.
