Other Orders

Considering that apparently Mazda have taken nearly 1000 orders I am a little surprised that such few are on our EP list. Presumably any buyer doing research does so in the web and that, with little guidence, should lead them to this site.

But it has not. Therefore either many are ordering even blinder than us, which I find hard to beleive, or this site is not that obvious under a RX8 web search.

Web searches

The forum doesn't show up on 'Google' web searches.
I've tried that too.

I don't remember how I initially found this forum, can anybody else?

Well you haven't got my "EP" number because I have never received any number with an EP prefix. I have the Confirmation Pack thingy and it gives me what it calls an Order Number but it's a 6 digit number beginning with 2. It doesn't look anything like anyone else's number.

I took a punt on rx8forums.com and got nothing. Luckily I came across Phil (Contigo) on another forum I frequent (www.thedvdforums.com a really good place for general discussions) who pointed me to the correct address.

You have to put the hyphen in. Type in "RX-8" or "rx-8" then its second item on the list.

Can it be made any easier so that their are links from Mazda, RX8 or RX-8? Not being IT minded I have no clue if this is easy or even possible but we are missing many hundreds of RX8 enthusiasts.

That would involve the forums actively doing something to get the site appearing higher in the search results - usually at a cost.

I don't think there's a problem with the ranking, it comes in right near the top of the list. The problem is this site's title is "RX-8 Forum" (with the hyphen) so when Google sees a search for RX8 (without the hyphen) it doesn't think that you would be interested in this site because it can't see RX8 in the title. Google's not smart enough to realise that an RX8 and an RX-8 are the same thing.

Maybe someone could create an alternative title page for the "RX8 Forum" that would link to this, or maybe just have the words somewhere in the front page (maybe hidden) so google can see them? Dunno, I'm not an expert in this stuff.
