Order Tracking

When the US pre-orders were expecting their cars (It seems like an eternity ago now) they were able to track their order all through the system.

They received updates when their order moved stages i.e.

When a Build date was allocated
When a VIN was allocated
When the car was "on water"
When the car was "at port"
When the car was "at dealer"

Why then, when I am sure Mazda UK have access to the same sort of information than Mazda USA had, have we had the limited updates we have? Having "Accepted" for the last 5 months just isn't good enough.

Please MAZDA UK if you are reading this let us know the status of our individual cars....

Chris

(I probably missed a stage or two and got the terms wrong but you know what I mean)

There is no point asking Mazda UK, they know less than we do.

I wonder why that is... surely the information is available... it was to the US buyers.

I also have a conspiracy theory... sorta!

I have been told by 2 independent sources that the cars take approximately 4 weeks to get to the UK...

We believe that the Build started on the 28th or July (or 2 days later if you believe the delay that was posted before).

They were due to ship on the 22nd, but lets assume that the 2 days was genuine and say Monday the 25th of August.

So, 4 weeks travel would put the arrival at the dock about the 20th of September... yet we are still to expect our cars towards the end of October... Where are they for that missing month?

Further, in the 3 weeks before the ship sailed, there should be enough time to build some 2500 cars... (estimates based on us customer VIN numbers... can't credit)...

So, what caused the rumours that there are only 1000 or 1500 cars available?

The statement that I got today was that the build that started in late July (or whenever it started) was not UK, but EUROPE......

That makes a lot of sence... although it implies that they can make both LHD and RHD cars at the same time....

If true, the manufacturing potential may be even a little higher (I heard it's limited by the capacity to build the engines though)...

It does imply that far fewer cars will be on that first ship for the UK than we had hoped... I guess we're going to have to wait and see...

I'm finding it hard to believe that the 1st 1000 pre-orders are not on board.

Let's face it, there will be "HELL UP" if only some of us get their cars when they were due in JULY!!

We'll see, the end of August is nearly here.

Cheers
