Order tracking

First off apologies if this is old news.
I just came off the phone from Mazda who told me that all pre orders can now be tracked through their internal system. It is along the lines of production, transit , arrival, much like the US system. The lady I spoke to said that anyone currently ordering a Hi power in initial colours would receice it in October, low power will be November and Hi or low in the yellow, blue or green will be december.
Although i didn't ask I guess that still means the early orderer's should still have their cars in September, because i only ordered mine a few weeks ago it will be October.

HTH,

Ed

HTH,

I dont think the fact that some of us who ordered back in Jan/Feb will make much difference to those who ordered in the last month or two when it comes to delivery times.

If you have ordered a Hi Power in a launch colour, all 1000 or so cars ordered so far will be produced and delivered all within a month or so, around the end of September/October.

I wouldnt be surprised if some people who have ordered relatively recently may get their car a few days even a week or two earlier that some of the first pre-orderers.

I guess this will be down to how quickly cars get from port to dealer, and to how quick the dealers get them prepared etc.

My dealer is pretty small and apparently has 25+ pre-orders.
I just dont know where they are going to put them all. Busy town location with limited space.
As for 25 pre-orderers all salivating to get their cars at once. Nightmare... Hopefully they will call people in order and just do them one at a time over a 2 day period or something.

Should be interesting...

They'll probably just park most of them on your local council estate or maybe the nearest multi-storey car park until they've cleared the backlog. I'm sure they'll be safe...

Milcars St Albans aint got room to swing a cat let alone have a forecourt big enough to house 25+ cars.

In fact thinking about it the dealer premises looks more like an old petrol station that a purpose built showroom.

Morgan, think you and i might be the first to get ours as we are doing the most shouting.........and moaning.

In fact when the wife collected her car from Milcars St Albans she had to goto the BMW dealership in Borehamwood (Manor Way) because there was no room. I suspect thats what will happen with ours.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but it sounds like we are still on for September for pre-orders then.

There were supposed to be 1000 cars ariving in September, but as there are already 1000 pre-orders anyone ordering now would have to be from the next shipment (supposed to be 600 arriving in October). So the fact they are saying October if you order now indicates that this plan has not changed. Therefore our cars should arrive sometime in September.

This is probably what What Car mean't when they talked about October Delivery - when you get it if you order one now.

At the moment though, i suspect if you try and track your car you might find it scattered over a wide area.

Nuts and bolts - in row G bay 6 slot a
Tyres - Still in on the rubber plant in India.
Steel - core materials are probably still in the ground.
Radio/Cd player - probably running around in a mazda 6 (does wonders for the GPS tracking system)

Need i say more....

You would think in this age of Information Technology and the Internet that the tracking of our orders would be available through the pre-order website?

My order went through two phases:

Submitted - for about a week after I ordered

Accepted - since mid March

What I would like to see is:

In Production - about now

On Water - at the end of July

In Port - August

At Dealer - 31st August

In my grubby little hands 1 minute past midnight 1st September.....

I think I have been day dreaming again....

Here was me thinking of scooting of to the North West of Scotland in late Summer to show it off and take it for a spin.

Hell if i go in October/November i will be fighting 15 feet waves and winds from hell....

Scotland is only decent from the months of April - September. The rest is like living in Siberia.

I know i left it behind for sunnier climes....... Herts so much more refined.... NOT!!!!
