Ooops, Mazda Press site

"Good afternoon

You have registered for the Mazda press site, this is for accredited
journalists only, could you let me know the name of the publication you
represent."

So what mag do I work for then???

Or should I knock up a rx-8 website quick?

Gear Mr Fudgy,

I represent the Uk arm of the internet magazine and forum www.rx8forum.com/www.rx8club.com. I and my fellow journalist Titanium Grey will be following the launch of the RX-8 closely. Unfortunatly we seem to have recieved more information about the release date of duke nukem forever than the official launch date of the RX-8 in the UK.

We'd still havnmt recieved our press pack for the press launch in Wales later next month either, if you could prehaps send 2 passes and directions etc to the following address I;d me very gratefull, as would our avid readers.

Rob.

RX8clib/Forums has over 2500 members who are all activly interested in the RX-8, many having preordered their cars. Unfortunatly due to lack of communication from mazda and bad press in certain areas many pre-orders are being canceled. A bit of positive press from titanium grey and myself may help to persuade people to stick with the RX-8.

Rob.

I think it'll sound better with your real name Tit.g. I think I'm about done with the reply tho

Heres what I actualy replied with:

"Hi Graeme,

I'm sorry, I'm dont representany publication and shouldnt realy have acces to the Mazda press website.

Only reason I was looking round it is because mazda are so godawful in communicating with its dealers and more importantly customers.

I'm part of an RX-8 web community (www.rx8club.com , www.rx8forum.com ). With over 2500 registered users , and quite a lot of preorder customers.

Several are from Japan who have provided far more information to us UK pre-order customers than mazda Uk have.

Because theres been a lot of bad press on the RX-8 recently and the continuing delays in production and shipping ( mostly due to mazda looking after new Japan and US orders over existing UK/Europe preorders) there have been a number of pre-order cancelations. This cant be good for mazda and their new flagship model.

It would have been great to be able to hear some positive news on the car for once (rather than all the negative news) and post this information back to the community. For most people there mazda will have had their deposit for almost a year when (if?) we recieve our cars, which basicaly arnt the cars advertised at the start (lacking HP, poorer fuel economy, heavier etc).

Whats worse is all the roumours going round about things like test drives and the prodrive day etc. Many now believe that as pre-orders we wont get to see, or drive the car before we collect our own moddel, this just isnt acceptable. Personaly I havnt seen an RX-8, not even the blue j-spec pre-production model that sbeen doing the rounds, as its never been closer than 250 miles to me. Also I havnt recieved an invertation from my dealer to the roadshow events (these seem very limited also).

Sorry for the rant but many are feeling a little somewhat disapointed in mazda, and several now own s2000's or evo's etc instead.

Robert dickinson."

I got sort of a response...

"Hi Rob

Sorry for the delay in responding, however as non journalist I cannot
accredit you to the press web site. By copy of this e-mail I have
asked our
customer relations manager to respond to your other concerns.

Regards
Graeme Fudge"

Hopefully the 'customer relations manager' (tee-hee nice title, wonder what they do?) will respond.
