By the way Morgan, what month did you say?
July, August or September?

September goves you a new registration plate but I don't know if I can wait that long.

Glen -

I said 'ASAP' - so he ticked July.
Thought about the september thing with the reg plate but I thought 'sod it'.

I want the car and -
a) Got a private plate going on it which is RX8 specific and will therefore be sold with the car and
b) I wanna drive it - not read it ! Dont care if it is an 03 or 53.

Yes I understand that come resale others may be sad enough to think that the reg letter is everything but hey - you only live once.
Car is for me - and I want it NOW ! ! !

Roll on July....! ! !

What did you decide ?

Mine is asap also, I have a private plate as well so I'm not bothered about the 03 or 53.
Also, my current Audi is due Tax and MOT at the end of August and I don't see the point of spending any money on it.

I didn't get an order number as I did the whole thing by email and fax today. I think I'll call tomorrow to get it though, I'm still paranoid about the dealers and want to double check the order.

Still, I liked the phrase in the terms and conditions:
"By placing an order with Mazda you are asking Mazda to deliver to the dealer one of the first available Vehicles in the Territory..."
Sort of inspires a bit more confidence.

Cheers
Glen

Well Done Guys!!

I've not been so lucky

My dealer called at 6.00pm to say that the site was still not up.

He had been concerned and spoken to the Area Manager for the South West who confirmed that they had my order anyway so it was a matter of inputting only.

He did confirm that Dealer Deposits were 1ST IN THE QUEUE and I was not to worry. He said he would input tomorrow AM latest.

I would like an official order number though.

Well done guys:D

Cheers

Oilman -

My dealer was on line at ~17:20 I suppose (he called me while on line)

I wonder if once the system was available it simply got flooded with all the Mazda dealers trying to get on ?

If it makes you feel better my dealer said the same , (i.e. if he hadn't got on today it would still be a day 1 order as he had the £1000)

Keep us informed pal.....

M.

Kate (other half) has just popped into spare room and I read her this thread and she is now sad and saying 'Poor Oilman!'.

She wishes me to send you luck. Consider it sent.

Roll on July!!!

Done and dusted after having no joy from my dealer yesterday, visited this morning personally put in my order with him on the dealer website.

The site also takes into account the date you actually ordered with your dealer and the number in the dealers queue you are.

Got my order number and put down for a July delivery. Car will be plated anyway and I get 6 weeks driving the beast prior to the new reg.

I couldn't stand seeing another RX8 on the road , whilst mine is waiting in the dealers for what is basically different letters on it, the shock factor of the car with friends and colleagues, (and clients) could also be lost.

So there you have it. first Velocity Red 240 BHP with leather in Staffordshire is mine.

In addition just in passing, my dealer said that each of them will have 2 cars anyway. A demonstrator, and one for the showroom, whcih they can't sell for 3 months. Colours to be agreed. Small interesting titbit!!!:D :D

I think I need to get back on to my dealer again.

He has not mentioned anything about signing an agreement.

Makes me wonder if my order has been input yet.

Cheers

Mark

These are the conditions of the sale, i.e what Mazda will do and what you will do as well. i.e. If you don't want the motor when you see it (highly unlikely) you'll only get £900.00 back.

You will need to sign these as the dealer needs to issue them to Mazda within 14 days to clarify the order. Basically, setting up the contract.

Don't worry, it'll be fine

My dealer (Swindon) rang me last night at bout 7pm to tell me that he had just ordered my car on the web site. After all the pasting that dealers have taken its nice to know that some of them make such an effort that he was there till that time. Im EP206 and will be getting as soon as poss. Not interested in waiting till Sep as having RXB plate.

Also im sure i read somewhere that those who have pre-ordered by 1 Mar will be eligible for entry into draw for visit to Mazda in Japan. Seeing as there cant be that many orders in the UK, thats not bad odds. Unless youre dealer is still sitting on it cause he's more interested in other customers now that he has your deposit.

No Luck For Me

Visited my Dealer today, his User and Password does not work!

He called the Mazda help line (dealer one) which is open 9-5 on Saturday's but just answerphone!!!!!!

This is just frustrating and not good enough!!

If I'm not entered for trip to Japan, I'll be jumping with Mazda

I'm hoping for Monday latest but the Oilman's rattled now.

Cheers

Went to see my dealer this morning.

I asked if the orders had been placed and he told me, he'd done it all yesterday.

Then I asked if I needed to sign anything, to which he replied 'No'.

I then told him about the others on this board signing agreements. He then dissapeared into the office and after a few minutes came back with a standard order form filled in and asked me to sign it. He the explained that the cars were ordered on the standard forms, but said he couldn't supply me with an order number. He also stated he had no idea on dates, deleivery amounts, or any delivery restrictions due to specification.

Starting to get a bit worried that he's just doing what he needs to get me out of the door while seeming to be as helpful as he can!

I really don't trust what he's saying and I would like to get seperate confirmation from Mazda UK that my order has been placed!

Does anyone else feel they are being short changed by their dealer and would like to hear from Mazda UK directly?

My dealer apparently is "putting these through during today".

They were going to call me with my EP number, but nothing yet .

Titanium Grey, I would talk to your dealer again. It looks like all orders must be input into the mazda website.

If he hasn't done that yet, then he may be a muppet

Sorry to be the party pooper - but something sounds odd here to me...

My dealer input on the web.
Once he had put my order through he had to confirm. Ny pressing confirm he was saying that he had a signed contract (more of that in a minute).
This confirmation gave him an 'EP' number (and password) that confirmed my order with Mazda UK, for my production slot.

Next , he printed out the T+C on the website , which ended in a declaration for the customer basically confirming the order etc..

He called me in this morning to sign this so I read the whole thing.
This has to be posted to mazda within 14 days to solidly confirm the order.

So - you should all have
a) A dealer web confirmation
b) An EP number
c) Signed a piece of paper with the dealer to be posted to Mazda.

If all of the above is complete Mazda will confirm to you in the post withing 7-10 days of your confirmation hitting them.

The T+C also said that only oders received on 1st March will eligible for the draw to win the trip to Japan. There are 3 trips to be won.

Hope that is clear.....
Guys - you need that EP number.

Morgan.

As I said earlier, I physically put my details on with my dealer and went through the process, I even typed some of the details in.

Without a RX8- EP number you ain't got an official order.

My dealer reckoned there will be 1000 cars in the first batch. As soon as that EP reaches Ep1000, I reckon it'll be the next batch, time unknown.

Chase the dealer

Got my RX8 ordered and I have the T&C's here to sign and fill in.

EP272 is my order so a few must have gone through today and yesterday.

Didn't get my EP number yet, but I did pop in to sign a copy of the T&Cs.

He's only got 9 to do anyway. How long can that take ???

Doing a bit of detective work here, but how did you manage to get these terms on conditions up??. The pre-order process is not working from the website yet, correct me if I'm wrong,. So are you a dealer or Mazda HQ spy???

Or have I been watching too many JFK and Moon landing documentaries:D

One thing I will be taking up with my Dealer and MAZDA will be the validation of my entry for the trip to Japan.

As far as I'm concerned, EP number or not, my order was placed over a month ago and I have the order form and paid the deposit.

This may tax them a little but it's really not my fault (or my Dealers) that the sign in and password issued do not work.

My Dealer actually let me sit at his computer with his information and procedure in hand and attempt to sign in. It didn't work!!

I'm bitterly dissapointed but feel it will all be OK in the end, afterall MAZDA has stated that buyers with deposits at Dealers will take preference.

Cheers
