Question Moonroof or not?

I've seen the moonroof in pics and think it spoils the looks

How about you?

The dealer I spoke to said that if you're over 5'7" then not to bother. It eats into the headroom too much.

So anybody over 5'7'' maybe would not fit into the car with a sunroof. I think those Japanese are cleverer than that and I know for a fact the dealers have not got a clue what they are talking about.

Although good point if you are ordering.

I agree that it spoils the roof line.

Moon Roof

The one I have seen in pictures, looks to be an external sliding roof as on the MX-6, MX-3. If this is so and it is placed over the driver it wont reduce headroom at all.

The series 3 rx-7 has the same type of sunroof which takes up very little room in an already nearly cramped cabin. I am 5ft 10 and it does not pose any problems to me.

Again Mazda will have taken this into consideration in their meticulous fashion when building rotary powered vehicles.

has the dealer sat in one? i think you should search other posts in this forum regarding head room. many have mentioned that it does not eat much at all. ask rotarynews.com(dan) or bern or elara they have actually benn in the car. others have as well i just can't remember everyone. i think they will all say there is more than enough headroom for even tall people with the sunroof, if you are over 6 foot tall you might want to leave your helmet off though :D

Hmmm... That means that since the moonroof causes a loss of 1.5 inches, that anyone over 5'-9" shouldn't bother sitting in the non-moonroof car. I don't think that Mazda would make a mass production vehicle that wouldn't fit someone taller than that.
