Very possible, but even with that explaination and how logical it is and all it doesn't really excuse the fact that it is doing it.

I'm driving the same route the same way the same everything, but double the fuel consumption? I guess if you had a longer route it wouldn't be double, but still high.
When I worked a few miles up the local roads I got appalling fuel consumption on my MX3 V6 (18mpg). Apart from the engine warning up issues, I'd actually use more fuel sitting at the 3 sets of lights if they were against me, than actually doing the driving.

Now I'm working 30 miles away I still travel those same two miles and 3 sets of lights, but the rest is motorway and dual carridgeway, and I'm getting a consistant 28mpg.

BTW the MX3 is supposed to do 26mpg urban abd 34mpg motorway, so you can see how heavy my right foot is. I'll no doubt be getting record low mpg out of the RX8, but its the having fun that counts.

Cheers

A couple of things I forgot.

1. listened to the Bose Audio System on the Sunday. Very impressed and I love my music. Didn't tweak it but it was well loud enough and with good clarity. CD loading and ejecting mechanism was good as well.

2. Boot space seemed larger than I remember which was a pleasant surprise. Golf clubs no problem.

3. Dials are awesome, loved the white daytime backlight, it was very clear. Lucky really as I drove it on the tacho.

Cheers
