How much does it matter, that there is no rear wash wipe on the RX8 ? I always had hatchbacks or coupes (except the Vauxhall Carlton GSi 24V), and I might just miss it.

It will depend on the angle of the glass. If the angle is right then the water shouldn't obsure the window too much but it'll be a first for me too. Most performance cars don't have a rear wiper so we're hardly unique.

 

It cant be any worse than the TT coupe - one of the few things z germans didnt get quite right - but you pay the price for aesthetics - I'd hate a rear wiper on either the TT or the RX8...

Bit of Rain-X alsways helps BTW.

 

i currently drive a beetle, and allthough it needs a rear wiper, it would look ugly. Besides in the RX8 how often will you be looking to see who is behind you anyway!

I'm glad it doesn't have a wiper (it would have to be a pretty wacky design to get around the screen anyway!) as I too think it's ugly. Was raining the last few days here and the rain just rolls off as I have the "body coating" whatever gunk that is!

 

No wiper please, will spoil the lines.

The new mazda 6 has got a rear wiper and its dammed fugly if you want a rear wiper i believe that it should be re designed and be a hiden type .For all the budding engineers maybe someone could design a new rear wiper ,and submited to mazda .
