Japan odds -

Just thinking - wonder what the odds are for Japan trip ?
I reckon they must be pretty good -

The highest number of pre-orders I have seen is about 350 I think.
There are 3 trips available - Therefore odds are ~125/1.

So far out of us regulars , oilman and rael are not applying. I am , and I have seen 2 others. If this is typical (and it may not be , after all we are those who are really really keen enough to keep typing at this forum) it looks like take up of ~70%.

That takes the odds to ~50/1 - pretty damn good really when you compare it to all those lottery players out there...

So - Who has entered and who has not ?
The chances of someone on this forum winning are looking better all the time ! (about 20/1 at the moment by my guesstimate)

Morgan.

Morganrogers,

Firstly, not being very IT friendly how does one post the relevant car from site to being a sig picture and

Secondly, I hope your number plate size is wrong, looks too big.

real.

Yeah - numberplate is the same size as the 'plate holder' on the front of the car. You are right - needs shrinking a bit...

The upload instructions are in the forum faq or user options etc , although you need a piccy of the correct size.
Post your piccy on this thread and I will shrink it down for you.
Then save on your hard drive and upload from there.

Let me know if you need more clarification.

Morgan.

PS - Oh , and while we are on the subject why doesn't that black BMW signature shrink it down a bit ? (on main forum). I dont want to download an enormous picture of a 3 series evrytime I read a thread ! !

Morgan and all others entering to competition,

How did you receive notification of this? Was it part of a welcome pack, or a seperate letter, or email?

I havent received anything and am getting a bit worried.

Just spoken to the Mazda hotline and they said they will look into it and get back to me, but didnt really seem to know anything about it.

They said I will be getting a welcome pack shortly, and all the details will be in there. Not much good if the trip is next week!!

Also, what is the closing date for the entries to the comp?

Cheers

Mark

Mark - closing date today -
We received a letter in the post saying 'welcome pack will arrive soon , in the meantime enter this competition , closing date the 10th'.

If you dont get it in today , then no entry.
I dont have details here otherwise I could post them -

I will post tonight if you want ? Should be in time....
In the meantime think of 50 words or less as to 'Why I should be the first in the UK to drive the RX8' (it is a tie-breaker).

Dont panic - we will get your entry in somehow !

Cheers Morgan,

Yes please post details tonight if you can. I presume this means I can just enter by email, do I not need to have the letter?

I will check out later tonight when I get home.

Not sure if I can get the time off, but that would be a nice problem to have to worry about!

Thanks m8

Mark all you require is this

Entry Question

How many rotors does the new Renersis enhine in the Mazda RX-8 have?

Tiebreaker

In no more than 50 words why do you think you should be one of the first in the UK to drive the Mazda RX-8?

Contigo,

Thanks, saved Morgan a job!

Does this mean anyone who emails this site can enter? Do you not have to quote your order number/name address etc to prove you are a genuine pre-order?

Thanks for all the fast responses - you can tell its lunchtime!

I have entered. My tiebreaker was the pappest of the pap (why do they do these - can't they just draw a winner out of a hat?).

Can anyone remember when we're supposed to hear who has won?

Mark you need no mention of an order number.

Obviosuly if they pick you then they will check to see if you are genuine.

I have just entered, here's hoping!

Although I do think others deserve it more cos I lived in Tokyo for like a year.

Can you imagine if me you and Morgan won it? :D

All entries must be received by 10th March.

The Winner will be notified by telphone no later than 14th March 2003.

What I see no mention of is the number of places available. I know people on here have mentioned 3 in the past but I can't see it on the form.

Hope there is a consolation prize for the worst entry cause im in with a good shout.
Cant see any mention on the Mazda paperwork of 3 winners. It constantly uses the term 'winner'. But unless there are 300 or so winners, I wont be popping into WH Smith for a Japanese Phrasebook.

Smiles :D

Ok Guys now that the entries have finished who's going to be the first person to post their tiebreaker?

Ok I'll do it :D

It MAZDA be ExhilR(x)8ing to ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM around Miyoshi with a Wankel in front of me and Renés sis by my side. I will B-pillar-less to stop the 238 horses from hitting the redline and all this from a 1.3! Rotary, my dear Watson!

As I said earlier, very pap indeed!

Well, Gold Star to Mazda UK, they called me back earlier with all the info to enter the competition as posted here and told me my welcome pack should be on it's way.

Im not posting my entry as too embarassing, all Ill say is that it was a little rhyme!

The letter says that you should add the reference number that is on the letterhead but I doubt it matters too much. I haven't seen anything implying 3 people can go either. The competition rules sheet that came with the letter says: 'the winner must be available... etc' and that seems to mean 1 person. Anyway, we'll know soon enough.
