It's grim up north

Finally!! I got a call today from my dealer saying that I will receive an invite to go see the winning blue pre-prod rx-8, and it's up north. In Manchester, but up north.

Still, close enough for me to finally get to see one in the metal. I won't bother taking pics as I'm sure we've seen enough of this particular car on the forum

Anyone else up north had a similar call?

Stu

And while I've been looking up all the polls, does anybody think we should do a poll of our current cars to see what a sad/great bunch of guys ('n' lasses) we are! Just how many TT's or sports style cars do we have? Or do some of us travel by Penny Farthing in our quest to afford the rx-8?

Remember that Knitsbridge Mazda, Stockport is likley to have Some of the UK spec press launch cars at their showroom on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well. They are being held there for the Dealer launch that is happening at Manchester airport the following Monday.

Knightsbridge Mazda is just of the M60 about 5 miles from the Bridgewater Hall. Do you think you could be tempted to add that on to your schedule for the day.

I will be double checking this on the Friday before as I only work a couple of miles from the dealer.

Will these be on public display (I don't need an invite?). I have familly in the Stockport area and could arange a visit over that weekend if I know for sure I can get to see the cars.

I would really like to see a non-blue car (hopefully red ).

It was Mark (mhopley) who got this info from his dealer. although rereading the thread here Cars at Dealer Next Month it seems he was told to go on the Sunday to see the cars, so I'm not sure when the cars will be delivered.

Mark do you have ay more info off the dealer yet?

I have not heard anything since my dealer rang but ricm56 called them and was told Friday/Saturday. My roadshow invite is for the Sunday so I was going to call in on Friday afternoon to see if the cars were there and get what information I could.

My brother spotted a silver/Tit grey car travelling slowly on the the M56 between Warrington and Chester at the weekend so the cars are definatly around.

What time are you thinking of going on Friday, around lunchtime or after work?

I was going to go down after work, but was hoping to finish early to get there for around 4.30 -> 5.00.

I can confirm that I did speak to knightsbridge and they said they would have the cars on 1st 2nd and 3rd of August. They said a couple of cars would be on display in the showroom and I was more than welcome to come along and see them.

I am planning on going Friday afternoon, probably have a couple of hours off to try and get there when they are quiet.
No need for an appointment the chap said so bring the family!!!

Got to say if everything works out and I get a good look/sit in the cars might not bother going to Bridgewater on the Sunday.

Hopefully see some of you there!!!
By the way Junction 1 of M60 if travelling east on M60 take first left at roundabout (sign posted Didsbury I think) and right at first set of lights after that you cant really miss it. Literally 30 seconds off motorway.

Wow, missed a lot while I was gone.

I may also try to get to Stockport/Knightsbridge etc...

Looks like a touring sunday, and I may bring my digicam after all

Cheers

Ricm56 - did they say what colours will be there. It's only a 500 mile round trip - I may be tempted if I can see a Titanium!:D

I'll try and finish about 4:30 on Friday. I'll be packing my digital camera as well. Probably see you there.

However, I will be going to the Bridgewater Hall on Saturday (can't miss out on free champagne) as the family will be along that day. So will probably go to Stockport again so they can see the European cars.

After all you can never get too much of a good thing can you!
