Insurance

I don't know if anyone else has thought about this but can anyone recommend a good RX8 insurance company. The best deal I have been offered so far is with the company with the elephant!

And before anyone asks, no I don't work for them or any insurance related company!

There's been quite a few posts on forum regarding insurance. Quite recently on Europe if memory serves me right so I'd suggest a search.

Yep this has been done quite a bit before.

But to recap, all the main insurance retailers are insuring the RX-8. It's not going to be a particularly specialist car to insure as it has very good insurance grouping.

I am currently with Direct Line, and may well stay there with this car. But there are plenty within a few quid of each other.

I am currently with Elephant, and just went through the renewal process. As far as found, everyone has gone up this year. On a 225 TT (age 30, 3 points, IAM licence, 6 NCB) I am paying the rediculous sum of £1466. They rekoned the RX8 would be about the same. Confused.com give me quotes form 1500 to 3000.

Thanks simrjor - some useful stuff. You've managed to get a better quote than me so far - mine is £600 with NCP.

Thumbs up

Try Liverpool Victoria (01202) 758011 OR 0800 608608

My quote:- age 33, full NCB, no convictions, 1 theft from car claim a year ago, garaged, average risk area (I think), wife also covered aged 27.

Price £580 ish with low XS's and NCB protected.

Please post findings!

Bell Direct - £700 (i.e. about £25 cheaper than my current car).

31yr
Full NCB
Protected.

May shop aroundwhen this expires (next year).
Not worth it at the moment as any pro-rata return will eat into the saving to be had , and it struck me as reasonable anyway....
