Hi - Low Power Differences

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the supension, braking, ride height etc between the low and high power cars?

The only differences I have found are
39 hp
6 speed box
xenon headlights & washers
alloy pedal set

It looks like the only way to tell the models apart externally are the headlight washer pods. In the Testdrive & pictures thread it looks like the red car LEV RX838 car is a low power one.

39HP ?

The low power puts down 192HP, and the high power 240HP. I fail to see how this difference amounts to 39HP.....looks more like 48HP.....

Other than that, no I have no idea about their *other* differences....:D

High Power European Spec cars deliver 231ps

Standard Power is 192ps

That seems like 39ps to me.......

I have been told that Mazda are going to add some sort of logo on the door b-pillars in the UK that identifies which model the car is.

Don't know about the rest of europe.

So the running gear in both cars is the same. ?
Are mazda getting UK spec cars for the welsh press event? At least then we should be able to find out the finer details of the specs.

I think there are more differences in other markets, including Europe.

If you read the European press release their low power gets smaller wheels as well as other bits missing.

That's what I thought but this European car has 18" wheels and no headlight washers - is it a low power car?

If you look at the specifications on the UK RX-8 website, the only differences are:

6 speed transmission vs 5 speed

Xenon headlights vs Halogen (which don't have the washers)

Both cars get 18" wheels, 17" brakes (I thought they were more like 12") etc....

Apparently the Lo power actually has a better torque curve.
