Got my book, sat in a 350Z at the dealer!
Finally went and picked up my book. Fantastic book and will study it from cover to cover....
While I was waiting I noticed a 350Z in the garage behind the main dealer reception area. Couldn't resist and asked if i could get a look at it. The sales guy obliged happily and let me sit in it and started it up too! That V6 sounds awesome. He was saying that they imported 4 from Japan...
Impressions of the Z : loads of room up front for my almost 6 ft 2 inch frame, very plasticky (cheap) dash, but nice chrome touches though, on sills etc; The front end styling is brilliant, but the rear dissapoints a bit, too fat. Side profile is aggressive and very impressive. This is really a great car.
But, i still would rather have the 8.

Did you pick the book up Saturday? I must have just missed you - I was there around 10:00.
Saw the 350Z - the rear parcel shelf/ boot area looked all weird. Like they had this extra space behind the seats and didnt know what to do with it. I suppose it's the compromise they made in designing a car to be both 2-seater coupe and convertible. The Alfa Spider used that space in the coupe for a couple of extra, small seats. Probably will sell hugely but I dont see the 350Z as a direct competitor for the Rx8 - probably more of a competitor for a TVR.
