Forgive me for being dumb!!
Forgive me for being a simple dumb Oilman but, I'm reading everyday on the main forum about guys Stateside shopping around for an immediate delivery of an RX8.
AND GETTING THEM!!
What has gone wrong?
Has Mazda oversupplied or do they have loads of pre-order cancellations on their hands?
Anyway, if they've produced too many then why didn't they fulfill the 1000 UK pre-orders earlier!
Sorry but just an observation.

Very good point Mr oilman.
Someone will correct me if Im wrong, but I beleive the difference to be that in the US, the customer deposit was with the dealer direct and the dealer then ordered a number of cars from Mazda. Therefore a dealer may choose to order more cars than they have deposits for. Also, the dealer can charge over MSRP to the customer if they feel they can get away with it.
In the UK, whilst many of us have placed orders via dealers, our deposits are now directly with Mazda UK and they will only be supplying cars initially to pre-orderers.
Still. not a very good situation to be in and I hope we avoid this in the UK. If someone can walk in off the steet in November and buy a car the same time as me then I will not be very happy.

Agree - think US dealers ordered themselves....
Also agree that if somehow non pre-order people get cars first there will be some very unhappy customers beating a path to Mazda UK! ARE YOU TAKING NOTE MAZDA?!!

Hold on . slow down chaps !
We cannot tell them off for something they have not done yet !
I think we are clear the US system was different (and less fair) than our own.
Everything I have seen points towards MazdaUK doing everything they can to get the pre-order customers their cars ASAP. Chill.....
I (personally) think MazdaUK are actually doing what they can for us right now with viewings and news - I am sure when it comes to delivery they will do their best also.
Who'd have thought it ? I am defending MazdaUK ! weird.....
Edit : Although I am still furious at the prices on the optional extras. Now *that* they can do something about. Crzy crazy money - truely taking the p***
