Flabber never so gasted...

There I was minding my own business at work today and a colleague ('Wheels' Mackenzie) happened to mention that as he was a Mazda 323 owner his Letchworth dealer had written offering him a test drive in the... erm... RX-8. 'Wheels' had assumed I'd test driven one so didn't think this remarkable. Not only was it an RX-8 but a Titanium RX-8 with leather and Nav system, ie: MY car! Once I'd picked myself off the floor and stopped gibbering he explained that he liked it, it was '**** off a shovel' and 'very nice'. Not for him though because it couldn't accomodate his bike.

Good grief!

I should point out that Letchworth is not my dealer (Priory Cambridge is mine) and that the cars were only there for two days. Apparently the dealer managed to convince a Mazda rep to lend him the car for the weekend when he was at the Wales launch (according to my colleague). Didn't understand your comment Oilman.

Hmmm - when I rang Mazda UK about test drives, I was told that test drives were not available for customers - only press. So I guess that those of you who have had them are damn lucky - but you can't blame the dealers from letting customers hava a go despite orders!
