Euro RX-8's and oil cooler
Hi,
In Australia, we only get one oil cooler with our hi power RX-8's. Do you guys in Europe know if your hi power RX-8's come with 1 or 2 oil coolers?

Well that's interesting. Since Aussie RX-8's have Euro compliant emission controls, following on from what Mazda Australia told you as the reason for the single oil cooler in Australia, the UK must have a warmer climate than Australia. Gee, that sweltering average temperature in the UK must tax the single oil cooler. Antartican RX-8's probably have two oil coolers.
Why would Mazda build a different spec engine just for Australia? I thought we got the Euro spec engine?

From the US and Japanese threads it seems that the Renesis produces surprisingly large amounts of heat pretty much all the time and really does need it's quite sophisticated cooling system. I can't imagine why Mazda would want to skimp on this. Once again, are you sure you've got this right?

We're sure about this... have a look at the pic of the front on the car on this thread:

You can see a bit of plastic where the oil cooler should be on the right hand side.

Nice pics there in that link, but say, what are those two little silvery bits to the left and right of the front plate holder?

Also I think the car looks a little 'meaner' expression without the fog lights... quite nice... are the fogs an option as well?

Definitely got it right. Next to my left fog light is a radiator grill that is obviously a oil cooler, on the right is a plastic blank. However, there may be an oil cooler behind the plastic blank?!?
