Engine Intrusion Into Footwell.
EastMoon states that:
It didn't occur to me that the reported passenger side bulge in the US cars would be on the driver's side in the UK but of course it will! This is bad news. People have negatively commented on the passenger footwell but it didn't bother me because the short time passengers will be in my car makes it acceptable. But if it's on the driver's side then we have to put up with it full time. Bummer!
a bulge(or swell?) is under the left leg of a driver's seat,That is the catalyst of exhaust. It is obstructive while getting used.

Maybe you need to ask EAST MOON how it bothers him (if at all).
So far, he has not mentioned it in any of his posts.

Re :bump in right hand drive rx8
Lensman if you go to rx8 media news ,see thread relating to 5/03 article in sports car international on page 3 it clearly explains the asymetricalset up that causes the intrusion on right hand drive vehichles .Out of 25 or so articles only one or two car journalist have even mentioned it i cannot see it being a problem ,but its one of the things that i will be testing in my 1st test drive hopefully in june sometime( DONT WORRY BE HAPPY )

Well it seems to be no problem (thanks to East Moon for the image), I've got less room in my current car:
Is that a grille under the pedals?

The bracket connecting the footrest to the floor of the car catches the side of my shoe when I push the clutch down. Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm considering removing the footrest, has anyone done this?

Its less of a problem on the drivers side, as the driver normally have their feet on the pedals or the rest, so dont even notice its there. The passengers tend to need more room so they can fidget a bit, and would object to a buldge.

Doesn't the majority of the world having the bulge on the passenger side?
I'm now pressing the clutch with my foot at an angle to avoid the problem.
