Dealer just called, my car is here early!!

Car was due on the 14th November, so I was slowly trying to get my finances together when bang after a 9 month wait I'm told it's sitting at the dealers, just been delivered. I'm even at work on an afternoon shift so I can't see it until tomorrow, bugger!
Even worse I have to wait for a selfbuild house VAT claim refund until I can afford it, and my accountant dragged her heels so it could be another 3 weeks until I get that payment! grrrr

Still at least I'll get to see the Velocity red + red/black leather in the flesh tomorrow:D

Excited Kenco:p

hmmm I dont know if this is a good or a bad thing Kenco, as certainly, if you've not seen one before, you'll be itching to take it away there and then. The wait from Friday until today for me was terrible, especially as the money was all ready to go in my case.....

Well done though! bet u can't wait!

Thanks, the wait is going to be torturous, does anybody know if I can get say a personal loan or HP for 15K then drop this down to 10K within a month when my VAT return comes in (without too mmuch of a penalty). That way I can get the car earlier!

Hold the accountant responsible, and on the money they invariably charge, they should be able to come up with the money out of their own pockets, or at least advise you where to lay hands on the type of loan you are after.

Talk about rub his nose in it Oilman, poor guy wants advice and you tell him just what he is missing. Shame on you.

Great to know your dream is about to come true. I am sure that after the weekend you will be able to give us all the SP on just what we are all missing.

Best of Luck. Both of you.

Wow 1 month from order to delivery.

Thats good going. I'm sure Oilman isn't rubbing his nose in it - he's been waiting soooo long for his car (longer than it takes to make a baby and get ther results!) that I'm sure he can be an ikkle bit happy!

Good to see your work for the club too Harrizone! www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk - join today!

I rang the dealer today to get the bank details so I could make a transfer and make sure the money was with them at be beginning of next week when I was expecting the car to be ready. He then let on to me that it might actually be delivered tomorrow rather than Saturday (originally was to be Sunday), so there is a possibility it could be ready for me by the weekend. Only one problem - it takes 4 working days for the bank to complete an electronic transfer taking under 1 microsecond (intrest grabbing b*startds), so I might be held up by that

Anyone got any ideas of how I could convince them the money is on the way?

Cheers

I have just phoned my dealer who says he thinks my car has arrived but he needs to check/allocate the chassis number?!! He will phone back ASAP.
This is worse than Japanese water torture.

Kenco

Congrats on the arrival of your car.

Regarding your loan problem - if you get a loan with EGG you can make overpayments whenever you want without any penalty. The APR is about 7.9% - not the best but not too bad.

Hope this helps.

Depends on your dealer if they'll do this.

Having bought my wife's people carrier using debit card on the day of collection, I assumed this would be OK for the RX, but Andy at Newbury Mazda said they would want payment 3 days before collection if paying by debit card.

Well my dealer hasn't called today, so the car probably hasn't arrived yet and wont be ready for the weekend But it does mean the payment transfer will have gone through by Monday (fingers crossed), and there will be no obsticles.

I do actually have a VISA debit card on that account, but haven't used it, so dont know if it would be accepted for the amount straight away.

Now I'm waiting for a date to get the insurance changed over for.

Cheers

Don't you have to pay a certain % extra to use a visa/credit card. My dealer won't accept credit card.

Also been informed that I should have recieved a £1000 voucher (the deposit) from Mazda. This means I cash this in and pay the full whack to the dealer. Can anyone clarify please?

I've applied to Northern Rock for my personal loan, 6.0% apr, and no redemption penalties. I will hear their decision tomorrow!

Snap - applied to them today. If they say anything other than 6% ten I'm on to Lombard via MoneyFacts as they also do 6% but with early redemption penalties.

Northern Rock will not loan me the desired amount! They wouldn't say why! and I'm a bit miffed as I have had a credit check recently from a saleswoman friend who works for a certain company, and the accountant there was upset that I had a better rating than him!

Maybe it's because of the recent interest rate rise, maybe they are being picky for now.

Kenco try else where and good luck.

You might want to go to Equifax and checking your credit rating with their online service. Its amazing and very worrying what you can find - two people were down as living at my house although I've been here since it was built 16 years ago - turns out they lived at similar address in the next county. I got that corrected, but if they had been bad debters it could have affected my credit rating. Watch out about privacy issues though, I also received all my sisters credit details, because she lived here at one point. She wasn't pleased about that!

Cheers

I will do a thread about the 1000 voucher, but basically its the first pack you get from Mazda - its the one with a letter that has a pic of the car in your colour on it, plus the card which has 3 sections which has the logon for the pre-order website. This is the £1000 deposit certificate and your dealer apparently needs it to prove to Mazda that the person on the deposit confirmation is the person to pick up the car and thus they can then get their £1000 back from Mazda
