You will have to get one from somewhere else in the EU.
They seem to be pitched at 30,000 - 35,000 euros most places.

50,000 Swiss franks apparently - which is ~35,000 euros.... Maybe that is where the '50,000' came from ?

I hope the 50,000 euros is wrong - it will kill the car dead just like the RX7. And that will be a shame -

Come on Mazda - get it right this time......

Yeah, but when I want to import it into Holland I must pay a lot for some kind of taxes (don't know how to explain it in English..) and stuff. So the car won't be less cheaper at the end...

All cars are more expencive here if you compaire it to other Euro-country's But I wasn't expecting 50.000 euro's for the 240hp RX-8!

Are you sure? In Germany there are a lot of people importing cars. But I'm not sure about taxes and things like that. Living in Aken now, I will look on the other side of the borders, too.

In Holland there is a high luxury tax on cars. However, the price is much too high in my opinion. Talk with the Dutch importer!

If not, buy your car in Germany:

German starting price: 26.300 Euro
Dutch Luxury tax (BPM): 9.000 Euro

Total: 35.300 Euro

Belgian price (non-official)

This week was the presentation of the mazda2 in Barcelona for the european mazda dealers. From someone who has been there, I've heard that the price for a 240HP RX8 in Belgium would be around 36.000 euro.
I do not know yet if this is full-option, tax-included, ...

I'll try to get more info in a few days.

Hearing this I guess that the prices mentioned in those Dutch magazines aren't correct.

The best part is that the guy who went to Barcelona (a mazda-dealer) is going to have an RX8. But he couldn't tell me just when. And I know I will be driving his RX8.
