At one point I was considering getting a Saab 93 Sport Saloon, and for the last couple of months I've been getting messages from that dealer asking me if I'd made up my mind yet. Finally decided to tell them today, just to stop them bothering me, here's how the conversation went:

Me - 'hi I'm returning your call, just letting you know that I have ordered another car now, so thanks for your assistance'

Him - 'oh, what have you ordered?'

Me - 'a Mazda RX8, it's perfect for me, sporty, sexy, practical'

Him - 'oh, one of those new ones, I have a customer who had driven one and he said it was appalling, so he bought a 93 Aero instead'

Me - 'really, there are no driveable versions in the country, did he fly out to Japan for a test drive?'

Him - 'well, he must have, yes'

Me - 'OK then, good luck with your Aero's when the rx-8 comes out. Goodbye.'


The thing is, why did he have to talk b*ll*cks? That Saab is a nice motor, but he has put me off every buying a Saab in the future because I'll remember that their dealers talk rubbish.
