Battery Recalls?

Battery Recalls?
I read about RX8s being recalled and upgrading the battery, did this apply to UK customers or just US ones?
Only reason I ask is that my RX8 seems to be a little sluggish at starting up lately, and had a couple of heart sinking moments where I thought it wasnt going to start at all :S
If it did apply to UK customers, how can I tell by looking if the battery has been replaced.
If it DIDN'T apply to UK customers, what do you recomend I replace it with? I have a car PC in there (but that doesn't boot up until the car has started). I keep seeing posts about "Optima Yellow Tops", but which model number do we need?

There was no 'recall' per se, but a more powerful Interstate battery replaced the Panasonic, along with a better starter, in early 2005. See "cranks but won't start" TSB.
Interstate is a good battery. The Optima Red Top can take more mechanical abuse thanks to insulated cells. The Optima Yellow Top is a 'deep cycle' battery and recommended only if you have an after market audio system or other added electronic loads.
