350Z Spotted

Saw my first one on the road today.

It was a silver/grey colour and had to do a double take as I only noticed it out of the colour of my eye as it was passing me from the opposite direction.

I still do like the 350Z, but I must say it didnt really seem to have much 'presence' and it just blended in to the background. Maybe it was the colour, as the Orange and Blue really seem to stand out in the pictures. The Mrs said she didnt like the look of it at all.

I never thought 10 months ago that I would see a Z on the road before an RX-8.

Having seen all 3 colours that you mention I can definitely say that the silver grey suits it best. If that doesn't have presence then they're in trouble.

I saw a 'Japanese' version last Easter at the Thurlstone Hotel in Devon. Went up to it...looked in the window and thought...umm...not bad (had not decided on RX8 so not biased). I do not think it will have an impact a few years on from launch that makes a great car great...

Pillman,

Ditto the silver Crossfire I saw today. Fairly bland in any colour I would think and yet this has also been put up against the RX-8 in several magazines along with the Z.

The 350Z is an awesome car and if anything is even better looking than the RX-8; certainly faster although maybe not quite so good on the bends.

I've gone for the 8 cos it's far sexier from a modern engineering point of view and I just love revving that rotary to 9000 and using the gearbox to get the most out of it.

Seems some of the 350Z forum guys aren't too impressed with the RX8.. picked up this link from their forum

http://www.kulthea.net/RX-8.wmv

To be fair, when I posted on their site they said it was all in good humour!

One guy however claimed he had been to see an RX8 and the salesman told him it didnt come with a spare or a repair kit and that if you had a flat you had to "drive it on the rim".
