On what grounds has this won?
The styling is nowthing new, and as far as I am aware there is no technogoy advance in there. Surley a "Car of the Year" should have pushed the boundaries or done something new or different? I am not saying that the RX8 is necessarily the sort of thing that should of won, nor stuff costing hundreds of thousands, but puhhhlease...

RX-8 wouldnt have won this as its not a euro car.
If you look at past winners there , almost totaly, forgettable euro junk. So many fiat's, citorens and alfa's.
Hardly a group I'd want my rx-8 taged in with.

Maybe it works in a similar way to the selection of venue for the Olympic games did back in the 80's - 90's. But I didn't think Fiat had that much disposable cash at the moment.

Maybe the selectors are all members of an animal welfare league and they liked it because if promoted our awareness of the panda.
The money and free trips probably had nothing to do with it at all.
