Question 190 bhp mpg

Anyone got experience of the realistic mpg for the 190 in the UK?

Good question and one that I'd like the answer to as well. I've just got one 2 weeks ago so I can give you what I'm getting so far.

I seem to be consistently getting 24-26mpg on virtually all motorway driving. However, I do tend to cruise at about 98mph so I suspect I'm not getting optimal mpg! I've already done ~1500miles and I do think that it might have gone up a couple of mpg already.

I would be interested to know if the 2nd set of injectors also kick in @3750rpm for this engine. If so then I reckon you need to cruise at less than 83mph to reduce fuel consumption.

weird, I'm not Jenn102888 - seem to have assumed somebody else's identity! (i.e. I'm not a girl and I'm not based in Maryland!)

You may be interested to know that I have a friend with a 230 in the UK who reckons that he's getting ~25mpg mixed and ~34mpg motorway!

If that's the case I wonder what the best a 190 can do is!

The 230 is not capable of 34mpg. The published figures state 31 extra-urban mpg, which is only obtainable if you stick at exactly 55mph with a trailing wind and don't encounter any hills (or bends).

Realistic figures for the 230 are 20 urban, 26 extra-urban, and 23 combined. That's what I get with 14k on the clock.
The 190 should be a couple of mpg better than this.
